Trump returns to Facebook, Instagram
The Meta company has reactivated pages belonging to Donald J. Trump on Facebook and Instagram, showing the last posts he made to each.

The company calling itself Meta, formerly Facebook, Inc., has reinstated the accounts of Donald J. Trump on Facebook and Instagram.
Restoration of the Trump accounts
Trump sent a message to Meta officials on January 18, asking them to reinstate these two pages. Meta suspended both on January 7, 2021, ostensibly for two years. January 7, 2023 came and went with no action by Meta. In asking for the reinstatement, Trump sent his strongest signal yet that he intends to seek renomination in the Republican Presidential race.
Media chatter began yesterday, at Red Right Daily, Steadfast Daily, Daily Patriot Report, and finally The First. And in fact, both Donald J. Trump pages, at Facebook and Instagram, are now active.
Nick Clegg, President of Global Affairs for Meta, made this statement:
We’ve always believed that Americans should be able to hear from the people who want to lead the country. We don’t want to stand in the way of that.
A remarkable statement indeed, which begs the question of why Meta disallowed those accounts in the first place. To say nothing of their additional disallowance of many who expressed sympathy for Trump and skepticism of the official January 6 account. And the proof that Meta, along with Twitter, have been State actors. The Intercept revealed that first. After Elon Musk bought Twitter and fired most of its moderational department, an anonymous user dropped a sixty-three-tweet thread showing 115 intelligence community members at Meta.
Latest on those accounts
The most recent post on the Facebook page dates to January 6, 2021. There Trump clearly called on the people to “stay peaceful.” The post is identical to a tweet he left on Twitter.
The most recent Instagram post is the invitation to the “Save America Rally” that preceded the Capitol false-flag pseudo-operation.
But Trump had plenty to say on his platform, Truth Social:
FACEBOOK, which has lost Billions of Dollars in value since “deplatforming” your favorite President, me, has just announced that they are reinstating my account. Such a thing should never again happen to a sitting President, or anybody else who is not deserving of retribution! THANK YOU TO TRUTH SOCIAL FOR DOING SUCH AN INCREDIBLE JOB. YOUR GROWTH IS OUTSTANDING, AND FUTURE UNLIMITED!!!
How soon he will start using the other platforms, remains to be seen.
