Senator Ted Cruz’s 13-year-old daughter says she is judged for her father’s conservative opinions
Caroline Cruz, the thirteen year old daughter of Texas GOP Senator Ted Cruz, posted a video to her Tik Tok page on Monday that detailed what her life is like with a father who is in the political spotlight.
In the video, Cruz answered questions from commenters about the pros and cons of being Ted Cruz’s daughter. One of the cons, she said, is that people tend to judge her based on the very public views of her father.
According to Caroline Cruz, she does not agree with her father on most of his political stances. “A lot of people judge me based upon him at first glance,” she said in the video. “But I really disagree with most of his views.”
Other negative aspects of living as a senator’s daughter include the security detail that follows Caroline around. She also complained that her father’s staff had edited the shirt she wore in the family Christmas photo to look longer than it was.
Cruz did note that there are some positive things about her life as Ted Cruz’s child. She pointed specifically to the ability to travel. She also listed receiving gifts in the mail often as a perk of her family life. The TikTok page, which has been set to private since the video was posted, has grown its following to 20,000 followers.
