Tennessee woman charged with sexually assaulting at least 23 high school minors
A woman in Tennessee is facing at least 23 charges related to sexual encounters with minors after she repeatedly offered the high school students physical items in exchange for sexual favors.
McMinn County Sheriff Joe Guy announced last week that Melissa A. Blair, 38, of Englewood, had been indicted on multiple charges, including 18 counts of aggravated statutory rape, four counts of human trafficking by patronizing prostitution, and one count of solicitation of a minor.
Blair is a parent and is involved in the school’s booster clubs and activities, according to McMinn County Director of Schools Lee Parkison.
Parkinson thanked an anonymous tipster who left him a letter notifying him of Blair’s actions. “I want to thank the person who put this anonymous letter in my office,” he said. “Without them, this could still be going on,” he said in a press briefing on Tuesday. The items Blair offered the teens remain confidential. Her arraignment is scheduled for Monday.
Officials believe there are additional victims they do not yet know about, and ask members of the public to please contact the McMinn County Sheriff’s Office at 423-745-5620 or the Tenth Judicial District at 423-744-2830 if they know of any unidentified victims in this case.
