Authorities have confirmed that a 17-year-old student from Lincoln High School in Stockton is currently in police custody after pulling out a gun during an altercation at lunch.

The suspect is currently being held in a juvenile facility on the charges of battery, criminal threats, resisting arrest, and other various weapon related charges.

“During the fight, a student pulled out a loaded handgun. After a brief struggle, a Stockton Police School Resource Officer disarmed the student and was able to take him into custody,” the police statement read. Authorities confirmed that two students received minor injuries during the scuffle.

“When our SRO and school staff were breaking it up our SRO saw the [suspect] pull out a gun from his waistband and that’s when our SRO took him down on the ground and disarmed him,” Joseph Silva, a spokesperson for the Stockton Police Department, informed Fox News Digital.

Record net reported that Witnesses confirmed that rather than run towards the fight to get a better look, students were frantically trying to escape the scene.
