Connecticut alderman confirms he entered Capitol during Jan. 6th riot
An elected official in Connecticut has publicly acknowledged that he entered the U.S. Capitol as the riot was taking place.
Gino DiGiovanni, who is a Republican alderman in Derby, told an NBC Connecticut reporter that after several people alleged they had identified him in the building, that he was indeed there.
Photos were taken during the chaos and DiGiovanni appeared in them wearing a jacket donning his name.
NBC Connecticut reported that DiGiovanni entered the building at 2:38 p.m. local time through the Upper West Terrace door.
“I was there, I went inside there, and, you know, I didn’t damage or break anything,” DiGiovanni told NBC Connecticut following a recent Board of Aldermen meeting. “Obviously, you got the pictures to prove it.”
DiGiovanni elected to a local office in Derby, which is a small city near New Haven, 10 months following the January 6 riots.
DiGiovanni said that no-one from the FBI had been in touch with him since the riots took place.
“If somebody calls me and says, ‘Hey, Gino, we’re going to arrest you for trespassing in the Capitol that day,’ then I’m going to have to deal with that at that time,” he said.
“I wouldn’t want to be arrested for it,” DiGiovanni said. “I guess hindsight is 20-20.”
At the time of writing, 928 people have been charged in connection with the Capitol riot.

People need to stop using the word “riot” in reference to the January 6 protest. If there had been a riot the capital building, as well as others, would have been destroyed. Look at what was done in the real riots promoted by Democrat, “BLM”, and “AntiFA”. Communities are still suffering from the destruction done by these real riots.
