A southwest Florida doctor has been arrested for reportedly drugging and abusing his female patients after sedating them.

Dr. Eric Andrew Salata, 54, who is a board-certified physician, has been charged with two counts of sexual battery on a person deemed to be physically unable to defend themselves.

Several women logged complaints with Naples Police Department saying that they had been indecently assaulted while receiving beauty procedures at the Pura Vida Medical Spa in Naples, according to Fox News.

One of the women said that Salata used nitrous oxide to assist her with sedation and pain from a procedure. The women alleged that when the nitrous oxide wore off and she regained consciousness, Salata was having sex with her.

Authorities say that the woman was “shocked,” and then contacted police. Police confirmed that the woman submitted to a sexual assault examination which was given to forensics laboratory for further investigation, Fox reported.

Another woman reported a similar experience after being sedated by Salata, police confirmed. According to police, detectives took necessary samples from the woman, which they then sent on to a forensics laboratory for comparison and to bolster their evidence in prosecution of Salata.
