Ignite the Pulpit
Call to the clergy
Dietrich Bonhoeffer is a clergy member who sounded a warning:
Silence in the face of evil is evil itself. God will not hold us guiltless.
Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act.
The following was read into the Congressional Record January 10, 1963:
Communist Goal (s) number twenty-seven (27) – “Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with “social’ religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity, which does not need a “religious crutch”; Goal twenty-four (24) – “Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling them “censorship” and a violation of free speech and free press”; Goal twenty-five (25) “Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio, and TV”; Goal twenty-eight (28) – Eliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in the schools on the grounds that it violates the principle of “separation of church and state”; Goal forty (40) – Discredit the family as an institution. Encourage promiscuity and easy divorce”; Goal forty-one (1) – “Emphasize the need to raise children away from the negative influence of the American tradition; that students and special interest groups should rise up and use [“] united force[”] to solve economic, political or social problems.
Things for the clergy to watch out for
First identify, then we can rectify: Progressivism is socialism; socialism is Marxism; Marxism equates to Communism; and there is no place for Christians in their world. So where am I going with this? And what does this have to do with the clergy? Everything!
Many Protestants and Catholics in the clergy flippantly profess to be Christians. My question is: “Are you believers?” With the situation in the United States deteriorating I’m curious. When you stand before the Lord, what will you say when He asks: “Did you feed my sheep?” Oh yes Lord, we preached your word, that is, to the extent the law allowed.
Because of government intimidation our churches have been ineffective and forced to comply with political correctness! Fear of retaliation has caused far too many to buy into the lie of “separation of church and state.” The silence from our pulpits has become deafening.
The Lord presented us with commandments, doctrines, and rules that are the basis of Christianity. They were not suggestions that any true believer can ignore. So ask yourself: Are you standing by the precepts of God’s word?
The Pharisees professed to administer God’s word, yet they were hypocrites that allowed unbelievers to erect their altars in high places. Likewise, fearing retaliation, many who preach the word to the extent the law allows fear the enemies of Christ; remaining silent concerning Gods statutes. “Revelations” 21:8 warns; the first to be thrown into the lake of fire are “cowards and traitors….”
I’ve studied Scripture to the best of my ability concerning the life model of those who minister the word of God and recall a warning; Matt. 12: 36-7
You can be sure that on Judgment Day you will have to give account of every useless word you have ever spoken. Your words will be used to judge you – to declare you either innocent or guilty.
History tells us that the French revolution brought about a radical transformation in which all religious influence on government was eradicated, and that country was soaked in blood. Those in government today are of that same mindset and would like to see society free from religion; as we are witnessing by the war on religion being waged by this current administration. Is there any difference? Does not the past always repeat itself?
The United States Supreme Court has made it very clear that religious freedom is an individual right. Yet, our current government does not seem to understand this. They think of us as members of groups and factions. It is an extreme form of identity politics that directly threatens any understanding of individual liberty and/or freedom.
What the First Amendment really means
Why is it that many fail to comprehend what the First Amendment says and means?
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the free of speech,…. [my emphasis]
I believe with my whole heart that it is our duty to protect religious values based upon biblical principles and family values void of federal interference. There is only one King; the Lord Jesus Christ.
For the past 50 years the government has intimidated the church’s to ignore the “immutable” word of God. Therefore, should any believer turn their backs as do the hypocrites – failing to understand or realize that children are the social group being persecuted by this government? Should we not bring up our children in the way they should go, or should we allow government to violate our religious liberty?
An entire generation of children has been indoctrinated with pro-homosexual propaganda and the elimination of Christian traditional values from American society. Over 50-million babies have been brutally exterminated. Should we not speak out against the “Violation of our Right of Conscience?” The “Consumer Protection Act has no validity; plus the discrimination nonsense regarding homosexual marriage. Homosexual lifestyles are and always have been an abomination before the Lord.
The Bible is clear, bring up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it. If we do not speak out against men and women in public office that condone these abominations are we truly believers?
This argument demonstrates another form of dangerous “group think” by our own government. The central problem here is that the U.S. government does not understand that religious freedom is an individual right. One need not be a part of any church or other religious group to be able to make a religious freedom claim. Specifically, one doesn’t have to follow the dictates of a church to claim religious freedom—one should be able to follow the dictates of God Himself.
Our hijacked secular government has prohibited pray in school, yet today these reprobates grant Muslins permission to pray in our public schools and have gone as far as providing prayer mats for them in airports. Yet, these very same people will object to nativity scenes on public property.
I contend that homeschoolers as well as Christian and Catholic educators are a specific social group being persecuted by this government. Government intimidation of our churches has been effective and has forced many churches to comply with Lucifer’s “political correctness.” Therefore, every pastor, minister, reverend, rabbi, chaplain, or elder of the church is commanded to teach Gods word; identify those that would pervert God’s word; and place in office men and women of godly and moral character. As George Washington reminded us in his Farewell Address:
And let us with caution indulge the supposition that morality can be maintained without religion.
Today’s Church has lost its moral compass! If we fail to speak out on the main issues confronting the church, a nation once looked upon as the “City on the Hill” will surly perish from the earth.
How can we ever hope to see society change and a true awaking if we refuse to elect those who would also be trained in biblical Scripture; men and women who will not tolerate the debauchery, filth, murder of the unborn, corruption, and return to the committed Christian teachings held dear to those that founded our nation?
The Rev. Charles G. Finney once said;
The church mast take right ground in regard to politics….The time has come that Christians must vote for honest men, and take consistent ground in politics, or the Lord will curse them….God cannot sustain this free and blessed country, which we love and pray for, unless the church will take right ground. Politics are a part of a religion in such a country as this, and Christians must do their duty to the country as a part if their duty to God…. He (God) will bless or curse this nation, according to the course they [Christiana] take in politics.
The Scripture tells of the need for committed laborers. Ask yourselves, if we refuse to act who will? It brings to mind the words of Martin Neimoeller:
First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out– because I was not a Socialist. Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out– because I was not a Trade Unionist. Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out– because I was not a Jew. Then they came for me–and there was no one left to speak for me.
I know not what any of you will do, or how you will react in this battle for traditional Christian values, as for me, I can’t be silenced. I pray we all become true laborers of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
From President Calvin Coolidge:
We do not need more material development
We need more spiritual development
We do need more intellectual power
We need more moral power
We do not need more knowledge
We need more character
We do need more things that are seen
We need more of the things that are unseen
It is that side which is the foundation of all else
If the foundation is firm, the superstructure will stand.
