We are all Little Sisters

The Department of Justice is doing its best to strong-arm a group of service-minded nuns to comply with Obamacare rules and regulations that conflict with their faith. The Little Sisters of the Poor have refused either of the options available to them in Obamacare that could make this problem go away. They include dropping their group health insurance and paying the Obamacare taxes or applying for the “accommodation” that exempts them for religious reasons. The options seem simple enough, but the consequences have not eluded the Little Sisters.
As in many cases, sometimes wolves do present themselves as sheep. It appears that BO’s lawyers at the Department of Justice may be wearing their sheep costumes when they argue that the application is a meaningless act. The act is so meaningless that they have sought to overturn a Supreme Court injunction to pressure the Little Sisters to comply with their meaningless act. The Little Sisters have realized that this meaningless act has the potential to make it easier for the federal government to pressure the Sisters’ third party administrator to comply with their regulations. The problem for the DOJ is that the Sisters find the Obamacare “regulations” religiously unacceptable – not only for them but for their third party administrator as well. The legalities may be complicated but the end results are in line with the tyrannical operating procedures of the usurping group of Chicago thugs in control of our government. Their latest target – a group of “Little Sisters” who have proven to be smart, tenacious, and committed to their faith and their liberty of conscience.
Little Sisters: the Jews of today?
You may not be Catholic, so you may think that this situation doesn’t concern you. If so, you don’t understand what our Founders understood when they wrote the First Amendment. They understood that in order to protect their right to worship as they believed, they had to protect the rights of others to do likewise. Or you may not appreciate Martin Niemoller’s quote made while in Nazi Germany, which is worth repeating:
First they came for the communists, and I did not speak out—
because I was not a communist;
Then they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—
because I was not a socialist;
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—
because I was not a trade unionist;
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
because I was not a Jew;
Then they came for me—
and there was no one left to speak out for me.
An understanding and/or appreciation of the First Amendment and Martin Niemoller’s quote should make you a Little Sister today, regardless of your theological doctrine. Either we all hang together, as Benjamin Franklin once stated, or we will surely all hang separately. As this Administration flexes its muscles and fights to subdue our God-given rights and liberties, today I declare that I am a Little Sister. Hopefully you will do likewise. It is time we start hanging together – while we still can.

“the Sisters find the Obamacare “regulations” religiously unacceptable – not only for them but for their third party administrator as well.”
That’s for the administrator to decide, not the Sisters. It’s unconstitutional for them to force their religious beliefs on anyone else.
Spoken by an atheist, number one. And number two, the very law they are administering is unconstitutional. The Constitution does not allow anyone to “administer” other people’s lives as any politician, or even any group of politicians, sees fit.
“Spoken by an atheist, number one.”
Irrelevant.
“And number two, the very law they are administering is unconstitutional.”
That’s for the courts to decide, not you, me or a gaggle of nuns.
