Wise in their own eyes
There are many definable divisions in America. Some are visible; others not so much. Whether it be the Democrats v. the Republicans; the Black Lives Matter folks v. the All Lives Matter folks; or the 1% v. the 99%, they all have something in common. They all believe they understand America’s problems better than their counterparts. They all believe they are wise and those that oppose them are either under-educated or fools.
Professing to be wise, they become fools
Another Occupy group with strong convictions is the group of elitists that occupy D.C., who believe they know better than everybody else but fail to see the chaos and destruction they have left in their path of self-righteous wisdom. These elitist have literally taken a prosperous and free nation that was healing its civil divisions and turned it into a divided nation on the path to economic doom. The Bible has something to say about such elitists. Romans 1: 22 says, ” Professing to be wise, they became fools.” For them it is their self-confidence in their own knowledge and wisdom that inspires them to shun the common sense solutions from average citizens that defy their well-defended agendas. It is evident in the government they have created, they are truly fools of the worst sort: fools who believe they know better than everybody else on everything else. And these dangerous fools also believe in a Utopian-like one world government where they should be making the decisions for the rest of us – unencumbered by the fetters of a national Constitution.
In the Democratic Party, the foolishness of the elites is supported by the foolishness of their constituents. This is exemplified in their support for Hillary Clinton, despite the fact that she is a proven liar and incompetent. Their foolishness is also evident in their collective passion to restrict the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding citizens in order to limit crime; failing to realize that if criminals obeyed laws, they wouldn’t be criminals. They also promote Socialism without applying the logic that dictates that sooner or later you will run out of everybody else’s money. For them, it is possible for all to sit around the campfire singing Kum by yah in some kind of Utopian free-for-all where government provides for all of your wants and needs and the money for this provision is miraculously supplied without limit.
Republicans, too…
Since I concur with Ronald Reagan’s comment regarding the liberal mindset (“It’s not that our liberal friends don’t know anything; it’s that so much of what they know is wrong), I will move on to the foolishness in the Republican Party. In the Republican Party, this foolishness is exemplified in how the Party is waging war against their own front-runner. They seem to believe that you can shoot yourself in your foot and still go on to win a footrace. It’s the Party we expect to be defenders of limited government and traditional standards. To me, the Republican Party is more offensive, since they portray themselves to be something other than what they are. This makes them deceivers as well as fools.
Frankly, I’m very grateful to Donald Trump for revealing the extent of the elitism within the Republican Party. In addition to their strongly held belief that they know better than the Republican voters and will do their best to impose their selection for President over the undereducated ranks, they also display their lack of common sense when it comes to many statements Trump has made. For instance, they are appalled that he doesn’t appreciate NATO. They gasp at the mere mention of defunding this costly coalition, which has proven it is defunct and ineffective – especially in light of Brussels. They also gasp at the notion of securing our borders and prohibiting Muslims from entering the country until we can figure out just who they are. Apparently they fail to understand that it is Muslim extremists that want to kill and destroy us that are subtly making their way into the country disguised as refugees – even when the FBI and other security agencies tell them otherwise. Those candidates within their ranks have gone as far as blaming the George Soros funded protests against Trump on Trump. And most recently the globalists’ front-runner has tried to blame the Brussels’ attacks on Trump as well – a twist of logic some of those who march lockstep have bought into.
These are the same fools who ushered in Fair Trade Agreements that have destroyed the American economy and our manufacturing industry, along with a multitude of jobs. Of course in collusion with the Democrats, they also destroyed our banking industry through the Community Reinvestment Act, the repeal of the Glass Steagall Act, and Dodd-Frank. Then, in an attempt to remedy their banking debacle, they appropriated $441.7 billion (as of 10/2-14) to these “troubled assets” through the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP), and another $787 billion stimulus package through the American Recovery Reinvestment Act of 2009. For those that are mathematically challenged, these last two programs resulted in appropriations (giveaways) totaling $1,228,700,000,000!!! Let me put it this way. Washington could have sent everyone listed in the last Census a substantial check and been well under the $1,228,700,000,000 mark. Personally, I think that would have gone a long way to stimulating the economy – well, beyond the negligible results we experienced at the hands of our so-called representatives. Heck, they could have stimulated the economy very well by sending us a small percentage of that amount – and after all, it was our money to begin with.
I suppose the same elitists would gasp if Mr. Trump or anyone else suggested we defund the United Nations, or not send millions upon millions of dollars in foreign aid to other countries when we are on the brink of financial ruin – $150 billion of which was recently sent to Iran as part of the Nuclear deal, and a part of which is sent to China – a country we borrow from and then send financial aid to. Additionally, they believe it is foolish to believe that foreign countries that are financially able should fund their own defense system – or at least pay us what it costs to provide for their defense.
When it’s not working…!
Our Washington elites might argue that I don’t know what I’m talking about. We have to send this money to these countries. It’s part of our diplomacy. Well, since many of these countries want to kill us, forgive me if I don’t think their diplomacy is working very well. And I also think it is lunacy to fund these hostile nations so that they can build a military capable of doing us much harm when we can’t use that same money to build our own military to defend us. And I also think it is lunacy to finance refugees from hostile nations when our own military veterans die waiting for medical treatment from our VA.
Truth be told, I’ve only just scratched the surface of the Washington elites who seem to have fallen through the Looking Glass, believing up is down and down is up. Either they are logically impaired and have become fools, or I have. Surely it has to be one or the other. In my humble opinion, they are not wise at all but are either delusional fools or traitors. Therefore, it is no wonder at all that when someone comes along speaking common sense, like Mr. Trump, they don’t or won’t have a clue as to what he is speaking about. God help us. Not only have we become a country that calls good “evil” and evil “good” but we have become a country where fools are idolized and revered as statesmen.
