Elon Musk takes jab at President Biden for failing to mention Tesla in State of the Union
Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has once again taken aim at President Joe Biden after the Commander in Chief did not mention Tesla in his State of the Union address on Tuesday night.
In an email to CNBC on Tuesday night, Musk wrote, “Nobody is watching the State of the Union,” and pointed out that in his address the President had touted Ford and GM’s combined $18 billion investment into the US economy and jobs creation, but failed to mention Tesla.
In a public Tweet directly to President Biden later Tuesday evening, Musk wrote, “Tesla has created over 50,000 US jobs building electric vehicles & is investing more than double GM + Ford combined.”
This comes amid an ongoing feud between the entrepreneur and the President. CNBC reports that Musk previously emailed them regarding what he views as the White House’s intentional failure to give Tesla its due credit. Musk told CNBC “Biden has pointedly ignored Tesla” and warned that if Biden ever invited him to a White House event he “would do the right thing.”
The White House has reportedly not invited Musk to any industry leader events due to fears the outspoken billionaire would say something that may embarrass the administration.
