Police respond to argument between Sen. Ted Cruz and airport staff
Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) was captured on a cell phone video posted to Reddit this weekend in a heated argument with airport staff at Montana’s Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport, prompting police to get involved.
The Republican senator arrived late to the airport and missed the check-in window for his flight. Upon being told he could not check in, Cruz became visibly frustrated and began arguing with the airport staff. When Cruz would not calm down, police were called to help diffuse the situation.
“One of our Public Safety Officers (PSO) was in the ticket lobby and was asked to assist with a frustrated passenger at the United ticket counter (which is not unusual),” said airport deputy director Scott Humphrey. “The passenger had missed the check-in window for his flight and rebooking options were limited out of Bozeman due to Spring Break.”
Cruz was booked on a later flight and departed Bozeman a few hours later, according to Humphrey.
