President Biden rejects questioning from Fox News’ Peter Doocy
President Joe Biden snapped at Fox Information reporter Peter Doocy on Monday, responding to the journalist’s query by saying: “Why ought to I inform you?”
Doocy had requested an explanation on what the U.S. would do in response to a plausible chemical weapons assault by Russia on Ukraine. Biden stated that Russia’s use of such weapons would set off a “important response.” Doocy replied: “What does that imply?”
“I’m not going to let you know,” Biden hit back. “Why would I let you know? You ought to be foolish.” Doocy responded, “The world desires to know?”
NATO’s deputy secretary-general, Mircea Geoană, mentioned last week that if Russia employs chemical or nuclear weapons in its army assault on Ukraine, the protection alliance can be “compelled to take acceptable measures.” Like Biden, he refused to provide specific details on what this would entail.
In a previous incident at the end of a press conference, Biden had referred to Doocy as a “stupid son of a bitch” whilst on a hot mic. Biden did phone Doocy to apologize and told him “It’s nothing personal pal” according to Doocy.
