Two Illinois men each sentenced to over 14 years in prison for 2017 Minnesota mosque bombing
Two men were sentenced this week to over 14 years each in prison for their roles in the bombing of the Dar al Farooq mosque in Minnesota in 2017.
Michael McWhorter, 33, and Joe Morris, 26, both from Illinois, drove a rented pickup truck to Bloomington, Minnesota, where they detonated an improvised explosive device at the DAF Mosque. No one was injured in the attack.
Hate-fueled acts of violence like the bombing of the Dar al-Farooq Islamic Center violate our laws and run contrary to our values as a nation,” Assistant Attorney General Kristen Clarke of the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division said in a statement.
A third person, Emily Hari, was sentenced in 2020 to 53 years in prison on hate crime charges related to the bombing. McWhorter and Morris were sent to prison on charges of firearms violations, arson, use of a destructive device and federal civil rights violations.
“These men followed Hari’s lead, complied with her direction, and subscribed to her violent and extremist ideology in carrying out this act of terrorism,” said U.S. Attorney Andrew M. Luger for the District of Minnesota.
“Today, justice has been served for their actions. The U.S. Attorney’s Office and the Department of Justice will protect and uphold the rights of individuals and faith communities to worship freely, without the threat of violence.”

While they should not have done this people need to learn what Islam instructs its citizens to do to force people to worship the god Hubal. The Arabic word “allah” is a contraction of the Arabic phrase “al ilah” and means “the god”. The phrase reference Hubal who is the chief god of a pantheon of around 360 gods and goddesses. Islam is rooted in depravity and violence, and promotes it use to advance Islam control over the world.
