Former House Speaker Paul Ryan says ‘a lot’ of Republicans wanted to impeach Trump after Jan. 6th

Former Republican House Speaker Paul Ryan said that more House Republicans would have impeached former President Donald Trump following the January 6 Capitol riot if they had the “guts” to do so.

Paul Ryan made this allegation while campaigning for Rep. Tom Rice (R-SC), who is one of the 10 House Republicans that voted to impeach Trump following the Capitol riot. Rice is now engaged in an intense battle for re-election for a sixth term against state Rep. Russell Fry, who is backed by Trump.

“There were a lot of people who wanted to vote like Tom but who just didn’t have the guts to do it,” said Ryan, The Myrtle Beach Sun News reported. “There are a lot of people who say they’re going to vote their conscious, they’re going to vote for the Constitution, they’re going to vote for their convictions, but when it gets hard to do that, they don’t do it.” He added: “Tom Rice is a man of conviction.”

Rice has argued that Republicans should stick with Trump’s policy ideas but abandon Trump as a potential President. He called his House re-election bid a battle between “nerds” like himself and Ryan, who aim to enact conservative policy, and “flamethrowers” who put allegiance to Trump over all else, The Sun reported.

Ryan last week on CNBC criticized “entertainer” lawmakers  from both parties who strive to develop a noticeable “brand” rather than work with colleagues to pass legislation.

“If you are going to entertain, if you are going to try to show that you’re better than everyone else within your own ecosystem,” it makes it more difficult to compromise and forge policy, Ryan said. It “divides us,” he added.

Trump hit out at Rice when he announced his support for Russell Fry. “Congressman Tom Rice of South Carolina, the coward who abandoned his constituents by caving to Nancy Pelosi and the Radical Left, and who actually voted against me on Impeachment Hoax #2, must be thrown out of office ASAP,” Trump said in a statement announcing his endorsement.

President Trump, the actual President under the US Constitution, did not cause “Jan 6th”. That was done by the “Left” and everyone knows it. Remember, we are electing the President and Vice-President as a team and Kamala Harris invalidates the Electoral College selection she is not a natural born Citizen of the US. To be natural born Citizen of a country one must be born in the country of a US citizen mother and US citizen father. Neither of her parents were US citizens. In fact, unless she was naturalized she is not even a US citizen since Amendment 14 did not give her US citizenship. Mr Obama and Mr McCain also fail the requirements to be President or Vice-President. We are dealing with treason, sedition, and other High-Crimes.
