Poll: Most Americans say overturning Roe v. Wade is a ‘step backward’
Over 50% of Americans who were questioned in a recent poll regarding the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v Wade have said they believe it represents a “step backward” for the country.
The Supreme Court’s 6-3 decision to overrule Roe v Wade means that each state will have discretion on whether to restrict abortion procedures.
Sunday’s CBS News-YouGov poll showed that 52 percent of voters said the decision was a “step backward,” while 31 percent said it was a “step forward.” 17 percent remain undecided.
56 percent of women who took the poll said that it would make their life worse, with 16 percent saying that it would improve their life. 28 percent of women said it would not make a difference to them.
Many convervatives and evangelicals said they felt “both hopeful and happy.” At the other end of the spectrum, those who disapproved of the decision said they felt “upset, angry, and many add scared.”
The party breakdown of those who approved the decision is as follows; 78% Republican, 38% independent and 17% Democrat.
57% of those polled fear that overturning of Roe will lead to same-sex marriage rights being limited, whilst 55% fear that they will have difficulty accessing birth control necessities.
President Joe Biden has called the overturning of Roe “a very solemn moment for the United States.” Responding to the Supreme Court’s decision Biden said, “The Supreme Court expressly took away a Constitutional right from the American people that it had already recognized. They simply took it away. That’s never been done to a right that is so important to so many Americans.”
Donald Trump Jr. took to Twitter to celebrate the news. “When nearly any other Republican President would have folded to the pressure from the left and the media, Donald J. Trump stood by Kavanaugh and refused to budge. And today, conservatives just got our biggest win from the Supreme Court in a generation.” He added, “Glad to see everyone is back to knowing what a woman is.”
CBS News said that the margin of error for its poll was 3 percent.

I suspect many of the people who don’t like the ruling don’t like they will have to be even more responsible for the behavior. And remember, many of the things the “Left” have been pushing are rooted in lies and promotion of deviant behaviors.
