Poll: President Joe Biden’s approval rating has remained below 30% for nearly 20 days
For the 19th consecutive day, Joe Biden’s approval rating has remained at 30 percent in Civiqs polling. His disapproval rating has also stayed steady at 58 percent, meaning his net approval rating (approval minus disapproval) is still a dismal -28.
Concerning racial demographics, black registered voters are the only population with whom Biden has a positive approval rating, which stands at 56 percent. Another 23 percent disapprove, while 21 percent neither approve nor disapprove. However, Biden’s approval rating among black registered voters has declined significantly since February, when it was at 70 percent.
Latino registered voters are also largely dissatisfied with Biden, with just 31 percent approving of his performance and 40 percent disapproving. White registered voters are more evenly split, with 36 percent approving and 39 percent disapproving.
These numbers are likely to increase pressure on the Biden administration to make some changes in order to improve its approval rating.
This marks a significant change from early in Biden’s presidency, when he enjoyed relatively higher approval ratings. In March, for example, 48 percent of respondents said they approved of his performance, compared to just 32 percent who disapproved.
These numbers underscore the fact that Biden’s presidency has been plagued by low approval ratings from the very beginning. In fact, he has never hit 50 percent approval in any Civiqs poll since taking office. And with his current net approval rating sitting at -28, he is now tied with Donald Trump for the worst net approval rating of any president at this point in their first term since Gerald Ford in 1975.
