Dr. Fauci, the White House’s Chief Medical Officer, has said that while he does intend to step down before the end of Joe Biden’s term, he is not ready to make an official announcement yet.

In an interview with Politico, Fauci said that he didn’t see himself working in The White House beyond January 2025.

“I plan to step down from my current position sometime between now and then and to go on and pursue other directions in my professional career,” Fauci said. “That has somehow been interpreted as my announcing my retirement. When I do decide on the date of stepping down I will make a formal announcement.”

Fauci would not give an indication of when he would leave, he gave the answer of “sooner rather than later.” Fauci also acknowledged that there is a “finite element to his tenure.”

The news of Fauci’s retirement largely split opinion on Twitter.

Lauren Boebert (R-CO) Tweeted in response to his remarks: “Fauci thinks he’s just going to retire and move on with his life. Not on my watch. He belongs in jail.”

Tomi Lahren, a conservative commentator, said Fauci’s retirement is due to who he thinks will be in power in 2025: “Even Fauci knows a Republican is getting elected in 2024. His *ss doesn’t wanna be investigated so he will ‘retire.’”

Occupy Democrats spoke in favour of Fauci and his tenure: “Dr. Anthony Fauci announces that he will retire by the end of Joe Biden’s term in office — having saved countless lives despite Republican attacks and Trump’s botched COVID-19 response. RT TO THANK FAUCI FOR HIS ALL WORK!”

Based upon what he has done I look forward to his arrest and conviction for the various crimes he has done.
