President Biden ends his COVID-19 isolation, returns home to Delaware
President Joe Biden has concluded his isolation and left the White House after two positive Covid-19 tests.
His physician, Dr. Kevin O’Connor, stated at the time that Biden had “rebound positivity.” This can happen to a small number of patients who undergo a course of Paxlovid.
O’Connor, confirmed in a memo that Biden again tested negative for the coronavirus Sunday. O’Connor concluded the memo by saying “He (Biden) will safely return to public engagement and presidential travel.”
After the negative tests, Biden left for Rehoboth in Delaware, where he owns a beach House. Biden told onlookers “I’m feeling great,” as he passed them on the south lawn of the White House.
Biden first tested positive on July 21. Biden’s office confirmed that he would end his isolation on July 27 after testing negative. Biden however did not leave the White House and returned to isolation 3 days later after another positive test.
Biden told Americans on July 27th that they can “live without fear” from Covid-19 provided that they are fully vaccinated and seek out help should they test positive.
Biden visited Kentucky on Monday where devastating flooding has killed 37 people and left many without homes. Biden re-iterated his intention to help the state in both the short and long term.
“Everybody has an obligation to help. We have the capacity to do this. It’s not like it’s beyond our control,” Biden said. “The weather may be beyond our control for now, but it’s not beyond our control and I promise you, we’re staying, the federal government, along with the state and county and the city, we’re staying until everybody is back to where they were.”
