Federal Judge announces her intent to appoint “special master” to review documents seized from Trump

On Saturday, a federal judge announced her potential to appoint somebody known as a “special master” who would look over records the FBI seized from Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home during its raid earlier this month.

The decision comes at the request of Trump and his legal team, who cited the “exceptional circumstances” surrounding the case.

The special master, who will be appointed by the court, will have the authority to review the seized materials and determine which ones should be turned over to prosecutors.

Trump’s lawyers have argued that the seizure of the records was “overbroad” and have asked the judge to return them or appoint a special master to review them.

The FBI has said it is investigating whether Trump violated campaign finance laws by directing his then-personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, to make hush-money payments to two women who claimed they had affairs with the president.

Trump has denied the allegations and has called the raid a “witch hunt.”

The judge’s decision on Saturday is a victory for Trump, who has been fighting the release of the records.

It is not clear when the special master will be appointed or when the review of the seized materials will begin.

The decision was made upon the review of Trump’s submissions and “the exceptional circumstances presented,” Cannon wrote in a filing Saturday.

“Pursuant to Rule 53(b) (1) of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and the Court’s inherent authority, and without prejudice to the parties’ objections, the Court hereby provides notice of its preliminary intent to appoint a special master in this case,” Cannon wrote.

The special master will be tasked with reviewing the records to determine which are protected by attorney-client privilege and should not be seen by prosecutors.

A date for the appointment of the special master has not yet been set.

Let us hope whoever is appointed has integrity. After all, the “Left” has been actively attacking Donald Trump for over 7 years with lie after lie since he is a threat to their dictatorship agenda.
