Vice President Kamala Harris confirmed in an interview this weekend that she would “proudly” run as President Joe Biden’s vice president again in 2024 if he were to run.

In an interview on NBC’s Meet the Press on Sunday, Vice President Harris affirmed her intention to run with President Joe Biden in 2024 for another term in the White House. Harris spoke about the strong relationship she has forged with the President during their time in the Oval Office, and confirmed that if Biden seeks a second term, she will be on the ticket alongside him.

“It’s a real friendship. We have a real friendship, and I cherish that,” she said. “The president has been very clear that he intends to run again. And if he does, I will be running with him proudly,” she added.

Harris also discussed the current influx of migrants at the US-Mexico border that some Republican leaders have labeled a crisis, with Texas Governor Greg Abbott and Arizona Governor Doug Ducey sending busloads of migrants to Democrat-led cities like Washington, DC, New York City and Chicago.

Harris agreed “there are still a lot of problems that we are trying to fix given the deterioration that happened over the last four years,” but also said the border is “secure.”

The Vice President said one way to mitigate the border situation is to “put into place a law and a plan for a pathway for citizenship for the millions of people who are here and are prepared to do what is legally required to gain citizenship.” Harris joined Meet the Press from Houston, Texas.
