Taliban bans women from going to parks and gyms in Afghanistan

The Taliban has announced a ban on women going to parks and gyms in Afghanistan.

This is one of many bans affecting women in the nation. The Taliban previously banned girls from attending middle school and high school, prevented women from working at most jobs, and ordered them to strictly follow Islamic dress code by being fully covered while in public.

A spokesman from the Taliban-run Ministry of Virtue and Vice issued a statement regarding the ban saying it was being rolled out due to people ignoring gender segregation orders and that women were not wearing the required hijab, or head covering.

Mohammed Akef Mohajer, a Taliban-appointed spokesman for the ministry, said that they had tried to avoid closing parks and gyms for women by imposing gender segregation.

“But, unfortunately, the orders were not obeyed and the rules were violated, and we had to close parks and gyms for women,” he said.

“In most cases, we have seen both men and women together in parks and, unfortunately, the hijab was not observed. So, we had to come up with another decision and for now we ordered all parks and gyms to be closed for women.”

Reuters cited several witnesses in Kabul who saw several women being turned away from an amusement park after the Taliban’s recent ban went into effect.

As long as Islam controls any country no one is safe in the country. The first thing people need to learn is that Islam is NOT a religion. It is a theocracy, a government with a religious component, and is rooted in depravity. This becomes obvious when one reads the Qur’an and learns Islam’s real history. Under the laws of Islam women are basically property. Also, under the laws of Islam the victim is responsible for what happens to them.

And remember, Islam is from a polytheist religion that has around 360 gods and goddesses, and has no ties to Christianity or Judaism. “Allah” (i.e. the god) of Islam is Hubal who is associated with the moon.
