California reparations task force says descendants of slaves should be given $569 billion
A task force in California who specialize in slavery and systemic racism has estimated those whose ancestors were salves are due $569 billion in reparations.
As the New York Times reported, the group estimates that – as a result of past housing discrimination – black Californians whose ancestors lived in the United States in the 1800s should be compensated with $223,200 each.
California Governor Gavin Newsom formed the Reparations Task Force in 2020 with the aim of reducing the wealth gap between black and white Americans.
According to data from the Federal Reserve Board Survey of Consumer Finances, black households across the United States have a median worth of $24,100, whereas white households have a median worth of $188,200.
Along with housing, the task force are also looking into mass imprisonment, unjust property seizures, devaluation of black enterprises, and health care.
The final cash figures will be formalized in a report that the Reparations Task Force will release in 2023. The decision of actually paying reparations will be left up to the California legislature.
According to the Times, the panel is also pondering whether to offer direct cash payments and tuition and housing grants as options for reparations.

So when are Blacks and Democrats going to start funding the reparations. It was a Black man who started slavery in the US and the slaves were enslaved in Africa. Then the Democrats created the KKK to keep Blacks down. Real history is inconvenient. The simple fact is slavery has nothing to do with the problems Blacks are dealing with today. Look at the choices made in the 1970s and the consequences.
