Rep. Kinzinger urges DOJ to ‘do the right thing’ by charging Trump for Capitol riot

Republican Rep. Adam Kinzinger, a member of the Jan. 6 committee, in a Sunday interview urged the Department of Justice to “do the right thing” by charging former President Donald Trump for his alleged role in the Capitol riot.

The riot occurred close to two years ago now, on January 6, 2021. While hundreds of rioters and those who breached the Capitol on that day have been charged, the Jan. 6 committee has focused most of their attention of investigating Trump.

As the Guardian reported, the Jan. 6 committee recently voted to refer the former president to the justice department on charges of obstruction of an official proceeding, conspiracy to defraud the US, conspiracy to make a false statement, as well as and inciting and assisting in an “insurrection.”

And Kinzinger said truly does “think he will be charged,” adding that “he should be.”

Kinzinger made the remarks on CNN’s “State of Union.”

“If he is not guilty of a crime, then I frankly fear for the future of this country,” Kinzinger said. “Now every future president can say, ‘Hey, here’s the bar.’ And the bar is, do everything you can to stay in power.”

He also condemned House minority leader Kevin McCarthy for who he said “is the reason Donald Trump is still a factor.”

“Donald Trump should consider Kevin McCarthy his best friend because Donald Trump is alive today politically because of Kevin McCarthy,” Kinzinger said, according to the Guardian.

He went on to warn his Republican colleagues of the danger Donald Trump poses to America, saying that “He stands up and just lies. He tells untruths.”

The only reason people support Trump, according to Kinzinger, is because he’s “entertaining.”

Kinzinger, who will soon be leaving Congress and after choosing not to run for reelection, said that he has no intentions of running for president in 2024.

There was no riot on Jan 6 2021. If there had been a riot the capital and Washington DC would have been burned to the ground. These anti-Trump people can not deal with the fact that people do not believe the election was legitimate. And remember, Trump has been attacked non-stop since he opted to run since he is pro-US and pro-US-Constitution. Look at where riots, called “Protest”, by the “Left”, “AntiFa”, “BLM””, have occurred. Destruction and death everywhere. And remember a women was killed by the capital police who should not have been shot and a police officer died of heart attack. Kinzinger is a typical “Left” liar apparently.

And remember, the BIden/Harris team is unconstitutional. Mrs Harris fails both citizenship requirements and invalidates the Biden/Harris selection by the Electoral College. We are dealing with classic treason, sedition, and other High Crimes.
