Arsonists accidentally set themselves on fire, run away screaming
Two suspected arsonists in California accidentally lit themselves on fire during an attack on a business. The suspects were heard screaming as they fled the scene.
The incident happened early Monday morning at Servicio de Imigracion in Bakersfield. The company provides immigration and naturalization services.
The company’s owner Max Solorzano released the footage and told 23ABC Bakersfield that city officials need to do more to protect city residents.
“They have to work harder in that aspect, in keeping the community safe,” he said during an interview with the outlet. “We are a small business and we help many people, so there will be people who will not be able to receive our services due to inactivity.”
He added, “We help many farmworker families with their immigration processes, we help people do taxes. We ask our clients to have patience with us, we will get through this.”
Footage taken from a Ring security camera shows two unidentified masked individuals approaching the business and dousing it with gasoline. When one of the individuals ignited the gasoline, they found themselves on fire.
Shouts are heard in the video as one of the suspects repeatedly fell while running away.
As of writing, officials have not made any arrests and it is still not known what motivated the arsonists.
