GOP Rep. George Santos caught in another lie about his mother being a 9/11 victim

Republican House Rep. George Santos (NY) has come under renewed scrutiny this week after it was revealed that in addition to the numerous false claims on his resume, Santos also lied about his mother being a victim of the September 11 terrorist attack in New York City in 2001.
The latest in a string of falsehoods perpetuated by Santos, the freshman congressman claimed in the past that his mother had lost her life at the Twin Towers in Manhattan on 9/11, but journalist Yashar Ali posted side-by-side screenshots on Twitter on Wednesday of Santos saying at one point that his mother had died on 9/11, and later Tweeting she had died in 2016.
Another video posted to social media in late December of 2022 shows Santos asserting both his parents were at the Twin Towers on September 11, 2001.
In response to the backlash over the apparent lie, George Santos’ website now reads, “George’s mother was in her office in the South Tower on September 11, 2001, when the horrific events of that day unfolded. She survived the tragic events on September 11th, but she passed away a few years later when she lost her battle to cancer.”
Immigration records obtained by The Forward showed Santos’ mother, Fatima Devolder, was actually in Brazil on 9/11.
The embattled congressman’s future remains unclear as Democrats and some Republicans continue to call for his resignation after revelations surfaced that he had fabricated almost his entire resume and education history in order to win his election in New York’s 3rd District.
Earlier this week, Santos was assigned to two House committees – the Small Business Committee and the Committee on Space, Science and Technology.

Waste of the Day: The Entitlement Spending Doomsday Clock is Ticking
What people need to remember is George Santos has simply been following the example set by the Democrats and “Left”. Stupid but if he were a Democrat just about no one would care. The Democrats would be making excuse after excuse for him.
