Everything We Know: Further documents found at President Biden’s residence

On Friday President Joe Biden’s lawyer Bob Bauer confirmed that the Justice Department have found further classified documents at Biden‘s residence in Delaware following a 13-hour search.
Bauer issued a statement confirm that the Justice Department “took possession of materials it deemed within the scope of its inquiry, including six items consisting of documents with classification markings and surrounding materials, some of which were from the president’s service in the Senate and some of which were from his tenure as vice president”.
The prosecutors also “took for further review personally handwritten notes from the vice-presidential years”, he added.
Bauer also confirmed that neither Joe Biden nor his wife Jill were present when the search was conducted.
Biden’s legal team previously confirmed that they located classified documents from his time as Vice President at his home, some of which were stored in his garage.
Prior to this, White House aides located batch of classified documents at Biden’s residence, and at a Washington think-tank he had links with.
On Saturday evening, former President Donald Trump posted to his social media network Truth Social about the discovery.
“They created this Documents mess for themselves by being so totally DERANGED about me, and I did NOTHING WRONG!!!” he wrote.
Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) tweeted “AGAIN?!?” in response to the news.
Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) also tweeted about the discovery.
“Think about this—@JoeBiden has had classified documents lying around his home for YEARS with no explanation or accountability as to why.”
Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) questioned whether more documents would be located in the future.
“BREAKING: An additional 6 classified documents were found at Biden’s residence. How many more are there, Joe? And in how many different places?”
Democrats have said that Biden’s situation is not similar to Trump’s as Biden is co-operating with authorities.
“Comparing Biden’s cooperation to Trump’s obstruction is like comparing apples and arsenic,” Kyle Herrig, who is the executive director of the Congressional Integrity Project, said on Friday.
Herrig went onto say that Biden “is cooperating fully” while Trump “repeatedly obstructed efforts to retrieve sensitive documents to the point the Department of Justice had to obtain and execute a search warrant.”
