Hong Kong Police conducting manhunt for ex-husband of Abby Choi
In Hong Kong, police are conducting a manhunt for ex-husband of model, 28-year-old Abby Choi after her headless body was found in a house in a suburb.
Choi had been reported missing on Tuesday.
Authorities confirmed that parts of her corpse had been cooked with some being stored in a fridge, as reported by the South China Morning Post. Human tissue was also found in 2 tins of soup.
Hong Kong police have arrested the parents and older brother of Ms Choi’s ex-husband. The search is ongoing for her ex-husband, who they believe was involved in the murder. Local media sources have named him as Alex Kwong.
The suspects are in custody and are expected to be charged with murder later as per local media reports.
CCTV footage spotted Choi on Tuesday at 2.15pm on Fu Chon Road. She was wearing a white top with long sleeves, white pants, white slippers and carrying a purple handbag.
She was scheduled to pick up her daughter, who she shares with her ex-husband, that day.
A male suspect, who was dressed in a black top and shorts, was also captured by a CCTV camera holding a large white plastic box, according to local media reports. The suspect then loaded the box into a white seven-seater vehicle with the back door open.
Choi is believed to weigh approximately 40 kg and stand 1.55m tall.
Local media believe that her murder is in relation to a property dispute worth $100M HK ($12.7M US).
Superintendent Alan Chung Nga-lun of the Kowloon West regional crime unit addressed the media on Friday and confirmed that the Kowloon Crime Squad has taken over the case and have carried out an investigation into Choi’s background.
Choi was described as a “style icon” in the recent issue of L’Officiel Monaco; she also has more than 80,000 followers on Instagram.
