Trump makes surprise appearance at UFC 287, sits with Kid Rock and Mike Tyson
Former US president Donald Trump made a surprise appearance at Saturday night’s UFC 287 event in Miami, Florida, prompting an ovation from the crowd.
The 2024 GOP presidential hopeful entered the Kaseya Center to watch a fight between Israel Adesanya versus Alex Pereira, and another between Jorge Masvidal and Gilbert Burns. Masvidal is a proud Trump supporter. Trump sat in the front row with MAGA enthusiast Kid Rock and boxing star Mike Tyson, as well as UFC President Dana White.
When the former president entered the arena and found his seat, the crowd greeted him with chants of “USA!” and applause. Video taken by members of the crowd showed Trump turning to the crowd to wave at the audience at one point. Masvidal later led the crowd in a chant of “Let’s go Brandon!,” a popular slogan with MAGA supporters that mocks President Joe Biden.
The appearance comes just days after Trump appeared in a Manhattan courtroom to plead not guilty to 34 charges of business fraud related to the hush money payments made to adult film star Stormy Daniels during Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign. Trump was arraigned last week and will appear in court to face the charges in December.
Trump’s son, Donald Trump Jr., was reportedly also in attendance at the Saturday night event.
