Legacy media and election interference
United States legacy media organs are interfering in the upcoming election, because they have no regard for the truth, or the Constitution.
The legacy media in the United States are clearly engaging in election interference. They did it in 2020, and they’re doing it again in 2024. Their editorial, “Trust and Safety,” and other policies emphasize the “progressive” agenda over the truth. As such they are committing fraud as a matter of policy. The only reason to hope their campaign will fail, is that dissension is growing in the ranks. That dissension allows the reading/listening/viewing public to see this election interference for what it is.
Examples of legacy media election interference
For example, Kristen Welker of NBC News has consistently shown a blatant disregard for the truth, especially in Presidential politics. Last fall she told former President Donald J. Trump to his face that “there’s just no evidence” that President Joe Biden ordered the Department of Justice to indict Trump. But nearly a year and a half earlier, The New York Times carried a piece talking about the dilemmas Attorney General Merrick Garland faced when examining the cases in the wake of the January 6 event.
The attorney general’s deliberative approach has come to frustrate Democratic allies of the White House and, at times, President Biden himself. As recently as late last year, Mr. Biden confided to his inner circle that he believed former President Donald J. Trump was a threat to democracy and should be prosecuted, according to two people familiar with his comments. And while the president has never communicated his frustrations directly to Mr. Garland, he has said privately that he wanted Mr. Garland to act less like a ponderous judge and more like a prosecutor who is willing to take decisive action over the events of Jan. 6.
Frustrate … President Biden himself? Such frustration should neither exist nor be at issue – yet it was. And Kristen Welker denied that – to the face of the man most affected.
Moreover, events have shown that perhaps Mr. Garland should have taken a more “deliberative approach” than he has taken. If he had, perhaps the case of Fischer v. United States would not have embarrassed him so.
That’s not all. Kristen Welker pushed the well-documented Russia Hoax, suggesting Trump owed his election in 2016 to the Kremlin.
Popping noises? Really?
Fast forward to shortly after the attempt on Trump’s life. NBC said the Secret Service bundled Trump off the stage at the Butler Farm Fair after “popping noises” rang out. Why Kristen Welker dared show her face at the Republican National Convention is a mystery for another day. But clearly she shouldn’t have. Savannah Hernandez of Turning Point USA challenged her on that bit of distortion. And she stared back like a doe in headlights, then ran like a rabbit.
The full description comes from The Daily Mail, now coming into its own as a challenger to legacy media.
The Arlington Hoax
But the worst example happened yesterday morning. Welker is, of course, a hostess on NBC’s Meet the (De)Press(ed). At issue was President Trump’s decision to lay a wreath at Arlington National Cemetery to honor thirteen U.S. service members who died in a bomb attack at the Kabul Airport on the last day of the American withdrawal from Afghanistan. During the ceremony, some of Trump’s staff took photos and videos. Immediately a narrative sprang up – with complicity from the Army Chief of Staff – that Trump’s staff acted without permission.
But Darin Hoover, one of the Gold Star Family members specifically said they gave Trtump all the permission he required.
We had given our approval for President Trump’s official videographer and photographer to attend the event, ensuring these sacred moments of remembrance were respectfully captured so that we can cherish these memories forever. We are deeply grateful to the President for taking the time to honor our children and for standing alongside us in our grief, offering his unwavering support during such a difficult time. His compassion and respect meant more than words can express.
Apparently Mr. Hoover said much more in a post that someone since deleted:
How about you stay in your lane!! WE invited him. WE asked that they take pictures and videos. WE are grateful that he accepted the invitation. Take your political [expletive] somewhere else. THIS WAS NOT POLITICAL AT ALL. This man has shown us more compassion, love, and support than the current stumbling, bumbling buffoon that got our kids murdered needlessly.
There are 8 points on the human body and you have stick one of the 8 points into one of the other 8. You have ZERO idea of anything other than your lefty talking points. The only one making it political is people like you and your ilk. TDS is real with you libs.
Take your fake bulls—t to another page. I’m sick and tired of people trying to detect from what was a solemn and great day for our kids to be honored and those that are wounded. Those are OUR MEMORIES AND THEY ARE THE ONLY ONES WE HAVE LEFT TO MAKE WITH OUR CHILDREN!!!
But Kristen Welker still thought she could score cheap political points – and did so with Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.). That didn’t go well for her or the legacy media:
Question: Bottom line, though, I guess, Senator, is it ever appropriate to make campaign content at military gravesites?
Answer: He didn’t take campaign photos there. These families, Gold Star families, whose children died because of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris’s incompetence, invited him to the cemetery, and they asked him to take those photos because, as they told me yesterday, when I spoke to Kelly Barnet and Darren Hoover, the parents of Taylor Hoover, who has Arkansas ties, they don’t get to go to the beach on Labor Day.
They don’t get to have barbecues. This is their one chance to have a memory of their children to commemorate their service and to honor their sacrifice. They wanted President Trump there. They wanted to take those photos.
You know who the families also invited? Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. Where were they? Joe Biden was sitting at a beach. Kamala Harris was sitting at her mansion in Washington, D.C. She was 4 miles away, 10 minutes.
She could have gone to the cemetery and honored the sacrifice of those young men and women, but she hasn’t. She never has spoken to them or taken a meeting with them. It’s because of her…
Question: They did meet with them during the dignified transfer. They were with them at the dignified transfer.
Answer“…Her and Joe Biden’s incompetence, those 13 Americans were killed in Afghanistan.
Note in the above exchange that Welker said Biden and Harris were at the original body unloading ceremony. That was a bald-faced lie. Biden was there, all right – checking his watch every other minute. But Vice-President Harris wasn’t even there. Since that interview, NBC has had to issue a correction.
Apparently several organs repeated another lie: that Trump’s staff “manhandled” a member of Arlington Cemetery staff. The only person to dignify that story with a response was former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-Hawaii):
What I saw was a very grave a somber remembrance and honoring of those lives that were lost, and I saw President Trump spending time — at the invitation of these Gold Star families — with them, he was there for a few hours. I did not see or hear about any kind of altercation until something came out in the news.

Legacy media even attack the Constitution
As bad as were those examples of disregard for the truth, the legacy media pour contempt on the Constitution. On Saturday (August 31), Jennifer Szalai, the “nonfiction book critic” for The New York Times, suggested the Constitution is “dangerous.” A furious Elon Musk linked to the article, and its frontispiece of the Constitution shaped like a crashed paper airplane:
Margaret Flavin at The Gateway Pundit says Ms. Szalai was born in Canada. If true, that could explain why, in her essay, she showed no respect for liberty, but only for license.
Her essay is actually a review of Erwin Chemerinsky’s latest book, No Democracy Lasts Forever. But when she, before even introducing that work, ventures to say:
[T]he Constitution … is essentially antidemocratic and, in this day and age, increasingly dysfunctional[,]
she is clearly stating her own opinion. Indeed, as her “review” goes on, it stops being a review and becomes a condemnatory critique of the Constitution. Instead of a Constitutional republic, she prefers “mass democratic politics.” She laments the recent handing-down of “judicial interpretations that rested on the framers’ intentions, 200 years before.” Of course, those “interpretations” have engendered new respect for the right of the people to keep and bear arms. And also for the right of free exercise of religion, and a faint beginning for a right to life.
And in the alternative …!
Szalai would clearly discard all that, and see a society in which:
- Any woman could get an abortion any time, for any reason or no reason,
- No person, except a law-enforcement officer, an active-duty military service member, a Very Important Person or “their” bodyguard, could own, carry, or so much as touch, much less discharge, a firearm, and
- The state would substitute itself for religion and relegate its believers and practitioners to mental institutions and reeducation camps.
Clearly she agrees with her review subject Erwin Chemerinsky, and calls for a Constitutional convention. But then she makes a strategic mistake, and repeats Chemerinsky’s speculations about secession. Ah, ahem, AHEM! Surely she realizes that certain people, who are actively working toward secession, are listening? CNAV can already hear Dan Miller of the Texas Nationalist Movement brandishing this section of the Times, crying in not-quite-triumph:
See? I told you so!
Miller would then break out in song. And no, it would not be The Yellow Rose of Texas or even The Eyes of Texas! Instead it would be Texas, Our Texas, by William J. Marsh and Gladys Yoakum Wright, from 1924.
Texas, our Texas! All hail the mighty State!
Texas, our Texas! So wonderful so great!
Boldest and grandest, Withstanding ev’ry test;
O Empire wide and glorious, You stand supremely blest.
Or perhaps those first two lines would read,
Texas, our Texas! All hail the mighty land!
Texas, our Texas! So wonderful so grand!
Analysis
Perhaps no such thing as an unbiased media can exist. If the adherents of one side of an argument would dispute even the sum of two plus two, if they thought they could gain an advantage in a public-policy debate, then an unbiased media cannot exist. As may be, one either respects the truth, or one does not. The legacy media in the Western World, and particularly in the United States of America, do not respect the truth. They don’t know what the truth is, nor even the meaning of the word.
From Kristen Welker at NBC, and Jennifer Szalai at The New York Times, come two booby-prize examples of such disrespect. Maybe the country can resolve its present crisis without secession. That will depend on the Election of 2024, though perhaps not as Szalai would judge it. But the people can no longer imagine patronizing one set of media that will appeal to all. Those who value the truth, will choose new media. Those who don’t, can stay with the legacy media who tells them what they want to read/hear/watch. Then let them indulge whatever flights of fancy they wish – on their own.
