Kamala Harris interview disaster

Kamala Harris turned in the most disastrous interview in Presidential campaign history. Watch out for the Big Cheat, which is Plan B.

CNAV has avoided covering the Kamala Harris campaign thus far. She has made more – and worse – unforced errors than anyone could expect a reasonable observer to believe. That’s why the only way she wins, is by cheating – by “registering” non-U.S. citizens at home and abroad, by intercepting absentee ballots (especially in the names of the dead and the move-outs), filling them in, sending them in, and threatening litigation against anyone who dares check them, and maybe by hidden routines in the proprietary code of every electronic scanner-tabulator in existence, to change the counting rules during an election, then erase that code upon close of polls. (Rather like Dr. Zachary Smith in Irwin Allen’s Lost in Space, ordering The Robot to erase an earlier deadly order.) Her latest debacle takes the booby prize, making one wonder whether she wants to boast of “winning” against odds she herself lengthens.

Kamala Harris appears on Fox

Yesterday, Kamala Harris gave an interview to host Bret Baier on the Fox News Channel. Bret Baier has a reputation for despising Donald Trump, not only for his occasionally boorish manner but even for everything for which he stands. So every observer, but particularly every Trump supporter, expected Baier to give Harris softball questions.

Instead Baier asked normal questions – and cut Harris no slack when she tried what Philip Wegmann calls her trademark filibuster. And on the key question of immigration – the most likely sticking point for what Erick-Woods Erickson calls her target audience – she blew the gaffe.

Jim Hoft and Christina Laila at The Gateway Pundit covered the interview, while Mike LaChance covered the attempted cover-up. At 6:47 p.m. EDT, Hoft explained the immigration debacle. Kamala Harris has a favorite talking point saying Donald Trump ruined a bipartisan “deal” that would have “secured the border.” Illegal border incursions are at record levels, but Harris wanted to talk about The Border Deal. Baier, to everyone’s surprise, was having none of that. He pointed out that six Democrats voted against that bill, too. (They can’t all have voted against it merely to have the right, under House rules, to move to reconsider.) This bill would have allowed 5,000 incursions per day before the Border Patrol could take any tougher measures. That would have come to 1.8 million incursions per year.

And it got worse

At 7:00 p.m. EDT, Christina Laila reported that Harris had “cracked” under pressure. She screamed irrelevancies and refused to take responsibility for a recent murder at the hands of an illegal alien.

Kamala — screaming — has completely cracked under the pressure of the first non-softball interview of her vice presidency. This is an unmitigated disaster for her. Humiliating.

Kamala Harris refuses to take responsibility for the death of Jocelyn Nungaray as a video of her grieving mother is played in front of her face, continues to attack President Trump. Kamala caused Jocelyn’s murder. This is DISGUSTING.

Fifteen minutes later, Hoft reported on an unprecedented ending. Bret Baier announced that “they” (the producers!) were “giving [him] a hard wrap.”

WATCH: Bret Baier looks to Kamala’s handlers as they throw in the towel and frantically push to end her disastrous interview. “They’re giving me a hard wrap here.”

And how did he know the producers were “giving [him] a hard wrap”? Because, according to Todd Starnes, they were frantically waving their hands at him as a signal to stop.

Bret Baier EXPOSES the Kamala campaign for pulling last minute shenanigans to try to shorten the interview and delay its release.

“We were supposed to start at 5 P.M. and this was the time they gave us. Originally we were going to do 25 or 30 minutes… they came in and said maybe 20. The Vice President came in around 5:15. We were pushing the envelope…”

To my Democratic friends: maybe you should consider swapping Kamala Harris for Joe Biden. Sen. J. D. Vance (R-Ohio), Republican candidate for Vice-President

More than two hours later, Christina Laila highlighted a “take-down” that could only have happened if Kamala Harris walked straight into it deliberately.

Baier: More than 70% of Americans say the country is on the wrong track. If you’re turning the page, you’ve been in office for 3.5 years.

Kamala: And Donald Trump has been running for office.

Baier: But you’ve been the person holding the office.

In fact, Trump War Room had dropped the entire interview, saying, “Our newest ad just dropped.”

Jimmy Parker at Red Right Updates called the performance “nothing but lies, dodges, and shaky responses.” He also gave Baier kudos for asking “hard-hitting questions.” In fact those questions hit hard because she was unprepared.

Erick-Woods Erickson said Kamala Harris needed to persuade a “target audience” of non-Trump Republicans to vote for Harris instead of sitting on their hands. His verdict: she didn’t, and the immigration question was her worst misstep. (Or maybe her real target were her Deep State donors, in which case she was completely off target.)

Takeways from the interview

Tyler O’Neil at The Daily Signal had “four key take-aways”:

  1. She took no responsibility for Biden’s “reversal [by] executive order of … Donald Trump’s border policies.” (These included ordering border-wall contractors to down tools and go home immediately.) And she dodged the issue of American citizens dying at illegal alien hands. In fact she implied that those people had to die for the sake of migratory justice, or some such thing!
  2. She refused to say whether she would permit, or forbid, surgical mutilation and hormonal poisoning of inmates at taxpayer expense. Of course, part of that policy involves moving biological male inmates into women’s prisons, presenting the obvious hazards.
  3. She said her administration would “not be a continuation of Joe Biden’s presidency,” but refused to say what, if anything, she will change.
  4. Finally, she refused to take responsibility for misrepresenting Joe Biden’s mental fitness.

Mike LaChance weighed in on two attempts by legacy media personalities to cover for this debacle. First, CNN’s Brian Stelter and other leftists insisted that Harris held up under the pressure. But Stelter could only quote a Harris campaign spokesman delivering boilerplate, not an honest assessment.

A lot of people on the left are simply not living in reality. The interview was terrible and may have actually ended the Harris campaign. It was that bad. Mike LaChance

Was Kamala Harris angry, or not?

Later, he criticized The View’s Sunny Hostin, who noticed that many viewers thought Kamala Harris “looked angry.” As she certainly did, when she was ranting and raving and screaming at the top of her lungs about Trump. Hostin didn’t appreciate that, according to Breitbart.

I saw a little of the panel after the interview and one woman said that she came in hot and also said that she became angrier. I thought he came in hot. What I am very tired of is this trope of the angry black woman. She was not angry. She was in command of the facts. She was passionate. Passion does not equal anger.

Most users, replying to that post, begged to differ. This reaction was typical, though more elaborate than most:

Sorry you can’t spin this. Kamala went down like the Hindenburg in this interview… Bret didn’t even hit her with anything as tough as she deserves and she floundered like a fish out of water… Kamala would have had a better shot this campaign if she just took accountability instead of deflection and lies…

The support Hostin got came at least partly from leftist organizational accounts.

As the debate was going on, Jack Davis at The Western Journal cited Mark Halperin as saying that internal polling – on both sides – shows Kamala Harris is in serious trouble. Meanwhile, Bob Unruh at WorldNetDaily revealed a Gallup poll showing more Americans identify as Republicans than as Democrats.

Analysis

Bret Baier apparently received accusations that he would treat Kamala Harris as CBS News did – and indignantly denied such plans. But if he had such plans, he abandoned them. By all accounts he anticipated her filibuster, refused to tolerate it – and then refused to give her any passes.

Harris, for her part, comes across like a queen bee. But what most people might not learn about bees is that the queen exists only to produce more bees. When she inevitably grows tired, the worker bees sting her to death, which is what could be happening to Harris. Brian Stelter, Sunny Hostin, and “Joyless” Reid at MSNBC might not be joining in, but everyone else is.

Her performance shows that she is as tired-out as that queen bee. It’s almost as if she wants the record for how bad a campaign one can run, and still win.

To write a good play and have it praised is nothing. Anybody can do that. Anybody with talent – and talent is only a glandular accident. But to write a piece of cr@p and have it praised – well, you match that. “Ike the Genius,” in The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand

The more reason, then, to stay alert to all manner of election fraud. A judge in Fulton County, Georgia has enjoined seven sensible election rules in that county. These rules include many that are standard procedure in many jurisdictions. The Attorney General of Michigan has threatened sanctions against the plaintiffs in a lawsuit challenging an unconstitutional scheme to let persons living abroad claim residency without establishing it. And an anonymous woman boasts of collecting votes from the elderly – by moving their hands across a ballot to mark and sign it.

This is how they’re getting Democrats to vote.

That’s why Kamala Harris did not end her campaign with this interview.
