On the 250th Anniversary of U.S. Independence, European Neocolonialism Is Revivaling

A journalist accuses European interests of trying to re-subjugate the world through neocolonialism – including attacks against America.

Europe, the former center of planetary colonization, is losing its international influence. Neocolonialism is a natural opportunity for European politicians to improve their position.

Why are Europeans reviving neocolonialism?

Europe is the center of the planet’s colonization. Previously, 10 of the 27 countries that make up the EU possessed colonies. At the height of colonialism, Europeans controlled 80% of the Earth’s surface, which is now occupied by nearly 100 states. By the 1960s, Europeans had lost almost all of their colonies. However, some European countries remain colonial powers. In 2026, Denmark, Great Britain, Spain, and France possessed colonies.(1) This means that the era of colonialism has not ended.

Colonialism is in even greater decline than communism, yet it continues to exist. But that’s not the worst part. What’s worse is that colonialism could be revived and become popular again among European politicians. In today’s world, this would be neocolonialism. The main reason for this is that colonial policy was the driver of economic and political growth in European countries.

Here’s one example. It’s well known that India was a British colony.(2) In the 19th century, India’s GDP was five times greater than Britain’s.(3) Thus, the exploitation of India allowed Britain to increase its economic and political capital. The use of colonies allowed Europeans to achieve global power. However, after the end of the colonial era, Europeans were unable to maintain their leading positions in the world by relying on the principles of democracy and capitalism.

United Europe as if it were a country

In 2026, the EU will be the second largest country in the world in terms of GDP. This figure for a united Europe will be $23.03 trillion. This is slightly more than China, the third-largest GDP in the world, at $20.85 trillion. The EU’s GDP was one-third smaller than that of the U.S.. America leads the world in this indicator. In 2026, the U.S. GDP is expected to be $32.38 trillion.(4) The financial indicators of individual European countries look even more unconvincing. Among the 10 countries with the largest GDP in the world, only 4 are European. Germany has the largest GDP in Europe. In 2026, Germany’s GDP is expected to be $5.45 trillion.(5) However, this is four times smaller than China’s GDP and six times smaller than the U.S. GDP. Clearly, 23 of the 27 EU countries have a GDP smaller than Russia’s.

Only the creation of the EU saved European politicians from losing the economic and political competition with other countries. However, even a united Europe, parasitizing on its friendship with the U.S.,(6) did not ensure victory for the Europeans. The U.S. leads, and China has almost caught up with the EU in GDP. Clearly, Europeans are not yet losers, but they are no longer the dominant force on the planet. Europeans have much to consider. Currently, the revival of colonial policy could be one solution for Europeans. This provides an opportunity to take a fresh look at the actions of European politicians in the world.

How do Europeans implement neocolonialism on a tactical level?

Colonial policy is a minimum of wars and a maximum of economic exploitation of conquered territories. If it were the other way around, colonialism would impoverish rather than enrich the colonial states. Over the 500-year history of colonialism, Europeans have accumulated more experience than anyone else in exploiting people for their own interests. Therefore, European neocolonialism is represented by ideological activists, not armed soldiers. Information and ideological subversion are the main strength of European politicians.

The ideological fighters of European politicians are Euro collaborators (supporters of the colonial regime). Euro collaborators are citizens of the colonized country who support the ideological positions of European politicians (the colonizers). Euro collaborators are primarily people who cannot succeed in a democratic society. This refers to those segments of society that, due to ties to corruption, crime, national treason, low intellectual and moral character, or other reasons, are unpopular with the general electorate in a democratic country. It can be said that the presence of serious vices (most often, corruption is used) is a selection criterion for participation in Euro collaborationism.

Euro collaborators pretend to be patriots

To disguise their interference in democratic society, European colonizers cloak the activities of Euro collaborators in a patriotic guise. This means that Euro collaborators, when exerting a malign influence on a democratic country, always pose as patriots of that country. This strengthens the influence of Euro collaborators and disrupts state power. Any attempt to oppose Euro collaborators is seen as an attack on the country’s patriots. However, such primitive manipulation of public opinion is easily countered by raising voters’ awareness of Euro collaborationism. Euro collaborators who support the colonizers are easily distinguished from true patriots of a democratic society. Here are the comparative characteristics.

Key Traits of a Euro collaborator

  • Euro collaborators distance themselves from the events they support.
  • Euro collaborators derive personal benefit from the events they distance themselves from.
  • Euro collaborators risk society and the country for their own gain.

Key Traits of a Patriot

  • Patriots are personally involved in the events they support.
  • Patriots contribute to society’s benefit from the events they participate in.
  • Patriots risk their lives for the good of society and the country.

Placement of euro collaborators: an example

A specific example of the placement of Euro collaborators and patriots in a neocolonial society can be found in the structure of Ukrainian society. In 2026, Ukraine was the only neocolonial country. In Ukraine, Euro collaborators are officials (politicians). The true patriots and victims of Euro collaborators are Ukrainian soldiers. Euro collaborators exploit patriots by misleading them about events in the country.

Euro collaborators are the primary tactical unit of the new colonization of the planet. Being the physical bearers of neocolonial ideas, Euro collaborators not only exert ideological influence on those around them but also employ methods of physical violence. Euro collaborators clash with the police, destroy government institutions, sabotage industrial plants, assassinate political opponents, refuse to perform their professional duties, etc.

Euro collaborators always constitute a minority in the colonized society. Therefore, the key to their success is creating the illusion of a majority. To achieve this, Euro collaborators spread throughout all layers of society and conduct ideological work far more actively than representatives of other political forces. Over a long period of time, this creates the illusion that Euro collaborators constitute a majority in society. Once this illusion is created, a significant portion of society loses the ability to resist colonization and falls prey to Euro collaborators.

Neocolonialism requires maintaining a proportion

The continued exploitation of a defeated society depends on maintaining the correct proportion of Euro collaborators to the rest of the population. Euro collaborators are the exploiters of society, so even after victory, they must remain a minority. The exploited majority must not suffer excessive hardship from exploitation and must maintain faith in prospects and success. Social mobility in a colonized society is the opportunity for a member of the exploited majority (a victim of colonization) to become a member of the exploiting minority (a Euro collaborator colonizer). This is achieved by maintaining a high willingness in society to sacrifice themselves in the struggle for the interests of the colonizers.

Some members of society, wishing to avoid the role of victim, will willingly retrain as Euro collaborators to save themselves and profit from the national tragedy. In other words, while the majority of society lives in poverty or perishes in war, some people, seeking to avoid this, will become Euro collaborators, betraying their nation. Thus, in a colony, unlike in an independent democratic society, people with low moral character come to power. The use of such people makes it easier for the colonizers to exploit the colony.

How do Europeans implement neocolonialism at the strategic level?

The main focuses of European neocolonial policy have become the post-Soviet countries (in the East) and the United States (in the West). Colonization of the former Soviet republics is carried out for the purpose of obtaining raw materials and cheap human resources. Colonization of the United States is carried out for the purpose of obtaining technology, finance, and military and political support. The combined implementation of these two projects will give Europeans global dominance.

Eastern direction

Between 1993 and 2026, Europeans attempted to colonize at least six post-Soviet states: Georgia (successfully), Ukraine (successfully), Moldova (in progress), Belarus (unsuccessfully), Kazakhstan (unsuccessfully), and Russia (unsuccessfully). The neocolonialists’ primary target in the east was Russia. To successfully colonize Russia, Europeans attempted to utilize the potential of five other colonized states: Georgia, Ukraine, Moldova, Belarus, and Kazakhstan. Successful colonization of post-Soviet states was also used against the United States (the use of the Ukrainian case against the United States will be discussed below).

However, the mediocre successes in colonizing five post-Soviet states led to the failure of Russia’s colonization. Georgia, the first country colonized by Europeans, emerged from the colonialists’ influence after the war with Russia in 2008.(7) The failure of Georgia’s European colonization was due to the premature and excessive exploitation of the Georgian people by the colonizers. The war with Russia came too soon and was too great a test for the new European colony. Georgians, with a 2,500-year history of their own statehood,(8) were able to separate their national identity from the EU’s colonial narratives. As a result, initially colonized Georgia slipped from the EU’s grasp and returned to its own national independence. This was the primary reason for the failure of the main goal of colonial policy in the East—the colonization of Russia. Georgia refused to participate in this project.

Successful neocolonialism in Ukraine

The colonization of Ukraine is the Europeans’ greatest success. Unlike the Georgians, Ukrainians had almost no history of their own statehood. Ukraine shares a long border with the EU, which strengthened European influence. Some Ukrainians (primarily in the west) traditionally held anti-Russian views. All this facilitated European colonization of Ukraine.

However, Russia’s attack on Ukraine in 2022 prevented Europeans from effectively using the colony. Europeans chose to destroy Ukraine in a hopeless war with Russia rather than spare Ukrainians and subject them to Russian influence.(9) This political decision aptly characterizes the EU’s colonial policy. It’s better for the colony to die than remain intact, because this will strengthen Europe’s geopolitical adversary, Russia. The lives and destinies of Ukrainians have no value to the colonizers.

Russia’s preparations for an attack on Ukraine also thwarted European plans to colonize Belarus and Kazakhstan. The spread of Euro collaborationism in these countries was not strong enough for colonization to be successful. However, in anticipation of war with Russia, the Europeans decided to accelerate their victory in Belarus and Kazakhstan. In both countries, during the last elections before the war with Russia, coups were attempted. These uprisings, due to their prematureness, were suppressed by the national governments with Russia’s assistance. The outcome of the war in Ukraine is also a factor determining the outcome of Moldova’s colonization. So far, the colonization of this state has been successful for the Europeans. However, if Russia wins in Ukraine, Moldova could fall outside the EU’s influence.

More failure than success

In fact, European neocolonial policy in the East has been more unsuccessful than successful. Of six countries, Europeans managed to colonize only two over 35 years. However, even in these two successful cases, Europeans failed to reap significant economic benefits. Long-term exploitation of the acquired colonies proved impossible. In the East, Europeans have switched from offense to defense. This defense, consisting of the destruction of Ukraine in a war with Russia, has a negative impact on all future prospects of neocolonialism in Eurasia. The fate of Ukraine, destroyed by colonizers, has become a powerful anti-colonialist advertisement. After the Ukrainian tragedy, it will be much more difficult for Europeans to promote colonial ideas in other countries in the region.

Western direction

The creation of the EU in 1992(10) marked the beginning of European neocolonialist policy toward the United States. The pooling of economic and political potential gave Europeans the ability to influence American society. Until 2017, the start of Donald Trump’s first presidential term,(11) Europeans pursued their ideological expansion in the United States almost unhindered. Over the past 34 years, European neocolonialists have achieved impressive results.

Supporters of liberal democracy became the mainstay of European colonization of the United States. By 2026, these people’s liberalism had reached such a level that the assassination of political opponents had become a natural method of internal political struggle. This includes the murder of Charlie Kirk(12) and the numerous assassination attempts on Donald Trump.(13)

Of course, as is typical of Euro collaborators, these individuals commit crimes against American democracy out of patriotic sentiment. That is, while attacking American democracy, Euro collaborators claim to be trying to save it. Characteristically, murders and attempted murders are only recorded against political representatives of conservative strata of American society. It is these politicians, and Donald Trump foremost among them, who advocate for a tightening of relations with the EU. The creation of large groups within American society capable of threatening American democracy with the most radical methods has become the greatest victory of the European neocolonialists.

Control of American media and immigration policy (Biden administration)

This victory was made possible by other, smaller victories. For example, the colonialists took ideological control of almost all major U.S. media outlets. As a result, these newspapers ceased to objectively report on reality. Consequently, these newspapers ceased to meet the standards of a democratic press. On the eve of the 2016 presidential election, only six major newspapers supported Donald Trump,(14) and fewer than 20 national newspapers endorsed him in the presidential election.(15) This was a historically low number for a major-party candidate. Despite this, Donald Trump won the presidential election. And this became a historical fact proving the American media’s detachment from the real mood of society.

It’s clear that European colonizers have gained the ability to influence U.S. domestic policy. The immigration situation is a telling example of this. The U.S. Republican Party, which advocates reforming relations with the EU, actively fights against illegal and mass immigration. The Democratic Party, which advocates maintaining the current relationship with the EU, supports mass immigration. As a result, the issues of immigration and relations with the EU are intertwined. An increase in the number of immigrants strengthens the position of those who support maintaining close relations with the EU, while a decrease in the number of immigrants weakens the position of those who support the EU. This occurs because immigrants traditionally vote for Democrats who support immigration (and, by extension, close relations with the EU).

Neocolonialism from east to west: importing Ukrainian “refugees”

Recently, Democrats have facilitated a massive influx of immigrants into the United States. During Joe Biden’s presidency, more than 10 million foreign immigrants arrived in the United States.(16) This benefited not only Democrats but also European politicians. Some large groups of foreign immigrants are directly linked to neocolonialism.

For example, approximately 280,000 Ukrainians arrived in the United States under the Uniting for Ukraine (U4U) program.(17) Most of these people exhibit traits of Euro collaborators rather than Ukrainian patriots. These people support events from which they distance themselves and simultaneously profit from them. This is typical behavior of Euro collaborators, not national patriots who ignore the European and Russian occupation regime in Ukraine.(19) Unsurprisingly, newly arrived Ukrainians have been seen in numerous protests against Donald Trump and his attempts to stop the war in Ukraine.(20) The transfer of 280,000 Euro collaborators from Ukraine to the United States has become a clear example of the influence of European politicians on U.S. immigration policy. This is a Ukrainian case in action against American democracy.

Neocolonialism against the U.S. is more likely to fail today

Although Europeans have achieved these and other victories, the future of U.S. colonization of the EU remains uncertain. With the rise of Donald Trump, it has become clear that the U.S. has begun to actively resist European ideological influence. This means that the European ideological intrusion has been detected and recognized as pernicious.

A fundamental turning point in this battle depends on the further actions of the U.S. Democratic Party. If Democratic politicians are able to recognize the importance of the fight against foreign colonization as more important than the fight against Republicans, the project of European colonization of the U.S. will be doomed to failure. If Democratic politicians continue to rely on Europeans in the fight against Republicans, liberation from European ideological occupation may be delayed. However, in any case, the project of European neocolonialism in the U.S. does not appear to be successful. The U.S., with a 250-year history of independence born in war with European colonizers, is defending its independence. Happy anniversary, beloved America!
