How smart is Obama?
Like many of you, I have bought into the idea that our current president is a smart and shrewd politician. After all, how many politicians could have arisen from out of nowhere and defeated the Clinton machine?
Of course going on this assumption presents a perplexing dilemma, since many of his actions tell a different story. We have all marveled at his lack of leadership, or the number of times he seemingly put his foot in his mouth. Perhaps he’s no Joe Biden, but his frivolous remarks about the country he is supposed to be representing seem ill-advised at best.
Since his college records are off-limits, it’s hard to say if the man is really smart or just a lucky would-be jock that was in the right place at the right time and had the right friends. His endless campaigning when the country is in dire straits might be his sole claim to any degree of wisdom, as it is the only thing he excels at. As political commentators knock themselves out trying to figure out what Mr. O is strategizing, they all approach it from the assumption that he is a political genius – mostly because he defeated the Clinton machine. They might be more adept at making accurate predictions if they realized that this would-be jock is more inclined to watch a ballgame than engage Congress or provide leadership of any kind.
How smart is Obama – really? The answer to that question may depend on how you qualify it. How smart is Obama – really – when it comes to predicting the score of the next big basketball game? Or – how smart is Obama – really – when it comes to negotiating golf handicaps? But if you’re asking how smart is Obama – really – when it comes to matters of state or leadership, then the correct answer may be surprisingly different.

Personally, I don’t think Obambi is all that bright at all. I think he’s somewhat charismatic and has some good “handlers” but the moves come from his puppet masters, not Obambi himself. I doubt his IQ even matches that of our last Bush.
