UN Agenda 21 – Hint, hint, hint!
The EPA and the Labor Department both dropped hints on UN Agenda 21. And the mainstream and alternate media both missed them. Did those hints provoke outrage? Certainly. Each hint provoked enough outrage for the government to backtrack on it, at least somewhat. But no one, aside from a few activists, connected one with the other, or connected either with the larger danger.
UN Agenda 21 – the farm labor hint
The Department of Labor dropped the first hint on August 31, 2011. No one caught it until this week. Then The Daily Caller published this report on the new “child labor law” for family farms. Specifically, the Labor Department said that:
- No child under 18 could do any chore on a farm, involving storing, moving, or selling farm produce. And:
- No child could take part in 4-H or FFA safety training courses. Instead, the government would offer 90 hours of training.
Investors Business Daily pointed out another rule: no one under 16 could use a power tool, drive a tractor, or run any other electric, Diesel, or similar farm machine.
Government apologists are quick to point out that a child could still do chores on a farm that his parents wholly own. But many farm families no longer wholly own their farms. Worse, no child could help out on a friend’s farm. What happens when a hailstorm threatens to beat down the wheat before the farmers can gather it in? Today, all farm families in a farming village help each other. Under this rule, they may not do that.
The outrage from farm families and communities was palpable. So late last night (and before IBD’s print deadline), the Labor Department withdrew their rule. Obviously this trial balloon went over like the lead balloon it is. But why didn’t anyone catch this hint last summer, when the Labor Department first dropped it?
Furthermore, IBD asks a stupid question. They ask why some Washington bureaucrat feels the need to stop farm children from doing farm family chores. They rightly point out that a rash of farm work accidents to farm children has not happened. But anyone ought to know that’s a lame excuse. They should also know that bureaucrat’s real motive: UN Agenda 21.
UN Agenda 21 – the EPA hint
Also this week, an enterprising activist dropped another hint, this from the Environmental Protection Agency. Two years ago, Señor Al Armendariz (ahr-mehn-dah-REESE), head of the office of EPA Region 6 (Dallas, TX), spoke to some local officials in Texas. He told a tale of woe about his limited staff. Then he described openly how he enforces the law: single out one company and ruin them, and the rest will fall in line. And he used a shocking analogy from ancient Roman military occupation to make his point.
They’d go in to a little Turkish town somewhere, they’d find the first five guys they saw, and they’d crucify them. And then, you know, that town was really easy to manage for the next few years.
Someone recorded that speech and uploaded it to YouTube. (Play it below.) Senator James Inhofe (R-OK) was apoplectic. He wants an investigation of the EPA. He made so much noise that Señor Armendariz apologized yesterday for a “bad choice of words.”
Señor Armendariz’ attitude is not new. Decades ago, then-IRS Commissioner Donald Alexander once told an outraged House committee member that he would “keep the people in line” by “mak[ing] them afraid.” The man sitting next to him, Tax Law Specialist Paul Strassels, decided then and there that the IRS was “at war with its own constituency.” Strassels was wrong. The EPA is also “at war with its own constituency.” In fact, the entire government wages such a war.
Again, Senator Inhofe, and IBD, in another editorial, miss the point. Yes, Armendariz should resign. Yes, the EPA does things in an overbearing way (and not only in Region 6). In fact, Lisa Jackson, the Chief Administrator, should resign, too. But neither Armendariz nor Jackson thought this up in a vacuum. And again, why didn’t anyone catch that two years ago, when he made those remarks?
And as with the farm child labor law, Armendariz made his remarks in the context of UN Agenda 21. Nor is this the only hint that the EPA has dropped, as CNAV has said before.
UN Agenda 21 – Executive Order
Executive Order 13575 gives the key to the government’s attitude. Obama issued this last year to set up the White House Rural Council. It is the most direct federal measure to make UN Agenda 21 real in the United States. In this EO, Obama repeats all the UN Agenda 21 buzz phrases, chief among them: “sustainable development.”
Marti Oakley of PPJ Gazette described it this way:
The council is a list of the most aggressive agencies and departments in the US government. The all-inclusive council members represent the very agencies and departments most dedicated to forcing the subjugation of the US to United Nations control. In fact, many of the agencies, departments and organizations listed as Council members are in fact creations of the UN; created for no other purpose than to give the United Nations direct access to the United States.
That Council, Oakley points out, includes the Defense Department and NASA. NASA? Of course. But this is not the NASA of Neil Armstrong:
That’s one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind.
This is the NASA of James Hansen, Global Warming Alarmist, and counterpart to Englishman Phil Jones of “Hide the Decline” fame.
Oakley found more gems, including Executive Order 13112, the National Invasive Species Council. Is this why the government ordered a pig farmer to shoot all his hogs, saying that they were an “invasive species”?
But that’s the point of UN Agenda 21. To the architects of that plan, humanity is the “invasive species” of the world. Their remedy: to force us off the land, return large swaths of rural land to the wild, and jam us all into dingbat dorm complexes in a relative handful of cities. They won’t say this out loud, but they really plan to jam everyone into the ultimate dingbat dormitory building: the Arcology. That is a literal city-in-a-building. (Don’t laugh! Paolo Soleri, the inventor, started building a project in Paradise Valley, Arizona, and is still at it.) Imagine living in such a building! Larry Niven and Jerry Pournelle did (Oath of Fealty). Though they portrayed the concept sympathetically, they named the worst drawback: no privacy at all.
The site Farm Wars understands the issue. Thirteen people have shared their perspective on UN Agenda 21. They compare it to two dark chapters in world history: the famines in Maoist China and in the Ukraine under Stalin. But too many reporters and editorialists won’t connect Rural Councils to bureaucrats who want to tell farm children not to do chores. Or to EPA regional bosses who “crucify” businesses to keep whole industries in line. Even United States Senators won’t connect the elements. (If any Senator would, James Inhofe would. When the Climate-gate story broke in November of 2009, he was the first Senator to raise his voice in protest. He should realize that radical environmentalism, and misplaced concern about “child labor,” are all part of a larger plan.)
UN Agenda 21 is much older than Obama, and goes back to Bush Senior. The man now holding office as President, Barack H. Obama, has merely promoted it more obviously and “in your face” than have those who came before him. Perhaps, as New Jersey activist Nick Purpura told CNAV many times, Obama has acted too soon and too fast. Now everyone knows who cares to know.
