Aid to those who want to kill us
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – sometimes it seems like we’re living in an Alice in Wonderland-type universe where up is down and down is up. The recent events in Muslim countries since 9/11 have bolstered that point of view. Amid the chants of “Death to America” and the recurring violence, we have been repeatedly scorned and threatened by 10 countries that we are sending foreign aid to – two of which we recently helped earn their independence.
They want us to leave? Let’s leave!
They want us to leave – I say let’s oblige them and take our money with us. If they weren’t so tragically sad, our foreign diplomats would be hysterically funny. It is almost impossible to believe but our Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who leads the pack of tragic comedians, actually tries to convince us that we need to maintain a presence in these lands to maintain peace, some order of stability and friendship. As the old saying goes – with friends like that…I wonder, if Mrs. Clinton is telling that to the families of Ambassador Stevens and the three other patriots who were killed alongside of him?
What do they do with our aid?
So, how is our hard-earned aid money that we are spending to maintain friendship and stability being spent? We are financing terrorist countries that want to kill us. I wrote it and I know it, but as I write these words, it is impossible to comprehend. Consider this: we stepped in and stopped these terrorists from killing each other. Now they have turned their attention to killing us. It seems they have to have somebody in their sites at all times. I say that if they always seem to want to kill someone, let them go back to killing each other. If they turn against us again, we are no worse off than we were when we were sending them aid – actually, we are better off. We’d be a lot richer. They would be worse off. They would be poorer.
How much aid do they get?
How much aid money do we send them? According to U.S. Overseas Loans and Grants, the figures for 2010 are:
Afghanistan: |
$4,646,531,521 |
Egypt: |
$396,922,996 |
Indonesia: |
$312,650,055 |
Iraq |
$1,081,888,652 |
Pakistan: |
$1,939,552,471 |
Uganda: |
$451,133,734 |
Libya: |
$23,827,968 |
Thailand: |
$48,767,498 |
Sri Lanka: |
$109,516,619 |
Tunisia: |
$820,743 |
Yemen: |
$43,966,165 |
These figures are not all-inclusive but represent the bulk of the money we send to these countries. For example, the monies we sent to aid the rebellion in Libya is not recorded. Nor is the vast amount of private monies sent to countries like Sri Lanka and Thailand to aid their rebuilding efforts.
AND…believe it or not, we sent money to Iran to the tune of $1,231,813 and to our dear friends in Colombia $677,903,782, and Russia $379,088,427.
I would add all these figures up except my calculator doesn’t go up that high.
The hypocrisy doesn’t end there. We also send substantial money to China (which we borrow back at high rates of interest), and to Germany (one of the most prosperous nations in Europe) – but that’s for another article on another day.
At the very least, would it be possible to deduct the $200,000,000 in damages that we incurred as a result of Afghans blowing up our aircraft? Nah – what am I thinking? That would only happen in a rational world, and in a rational world we wouldn’t be sending them the money in the first place.

“We also send substantial money to … Germany (one of the most prosperous nations in Europe) – but that’s for another article on another day.”
Yes. That’s a belated recognition of the fact that the Treaty of Versailles – which the USA signed – caused WW2. In any case, most of the money you send to Germany is in the form of payments for their cars and machine tools, because the USA is no longer capable of producing equivalent products itself.
“At the very least, would it be possible to deduct the $200,000,000 in damages that we incurred as a result of Afghans blowing up our aircraft?”
Huh? What aircraft? If you mean the ones at Camp Leatherneck I do believe they were destroyed by the enemies of the Afghan government you send money to.
