What made America great
Over these past two centuries the wilderness that was to become the most glorious, the most powerful, the most charitable and the most prosperous nation in the entire history of civilization, could very well turn out to be nothing more than a brief experiment amid thousands of years of misery, tyranny and poverty.
It pains the heart and darkens the soul to imagine that this beautiful collaborative creation of man and God, is being lost, being shredded. Not at the hands of powerful armies or uncontrollable pandemics but from the very people who would benefit from her greatness. That enemy being the apathetic, the immoral, the careless, the uninformed citizens of America herself.
What made America great
What is it, or better asked, what was it that afforded the impetus, the power and the will for America’s people to succeed and thereby transform hundreds of thousands of square miles of undeveloped land to such wonderfully bountiful vitality which not only has fed her people with ease, but the needy people, the world over?
Let’s compare some essentials required for a nation to grow into such a stunningly prosperous land. It’s true for certain that America has been blessed with an abundance of natural resources. She is not alone, however, in those bounties. Many countries around the world which have suffered under economic malaise or outright poverty have also been blessed with such resources.
Other regions of this world have always had smart people consecrated with the ability to build businesses and create wealth. Why then have so many of them failed to do so? Why has America, in just a couple of hundred years surpassed countries which have existed for many centuries?
It has been said by those haters of America, many of which were born here and one who may not have been, that resources were stolen from third world nations and that America was built on that. (That does not answer the question as to what these places, that were soon to be pillaged by America, were doing before America came to be.)
There is some truth in that statement, but it does not reside in natural resources, but in the desire for freedom and success. America has indeed absorbed from countries around the world some of the brightest minds, some of the hardest workers endowed with a will to toil and to make something of themselves. These people were not stolen however, they were enticed. Not with promises of free stuff, but of boundless potential.
Destruction from within
America is now being drained of everything it had built as the culture of hard work and honesty are being diluted by those who now come here, not enticed by opportunity, but by handouts. They do not bring educated thought or infinite energy. They bring unskilled, uneducated, under productive attitudes looking for free bounties, earned by the sweat of others.
Then there is the other group of invaders infesting our land by the hundreds of thousands. Those who have no desire to join our culture, but to destroy it. Those who bring fear and terrorism, hate and unrest. Their murderous deeds are ignored as those who would warn of the impending danger are castigated.
Both these groups are destroying our country from within, not just because they can, but because we are allowing it. Our garden of plenty is no longer being sowed with fruit and vegetables but of poison oak and poison ivy that will ultimately choke the life out of our once magnificent garden, relegating it into a wasteland. If the plan were to destroy this country from within, could there be a more effective blueprint?
Our earlier question! What is it that has made America great? For those who have not been trained in an Islamic Madrassa in Indonesia or mentored by Communists, it would one of the most beautiful documents ever written, second only to the Bible, the United States Constitution.
Of this they would be essentially correct. That document is the container that held so many gifts to the people while imposing limits on government. That document as a whole is a beautiful thing but it is the contents which make it great.
It’s true that the Constitution and the Bill of Rights and the Declaration of Independence are bountiful in things which have never been part of or enjoyed by governed populations. Freedom of speech, freedom of religion, the right to bear arms and protect one’s self and family are but a few important ones.
The most important thing that Americans have had, far and above every other country in the present and the past, is the reliance upon the “Rule of Law”. One knew, that if he ventured to create a business or an enterprise, the law would protect him from criminally minded competitors and corrupt government officials. This is what has given Americans not just the courage to begin an initiative but to also trust that he had the ability to protect what he had built. Over the years, millions of people took that gamble, relied on their talent to succeed. Success or failure rested solely upon their shoulders and would not be corrupted by powerful men who were not governed by the rule of law.
How the rule of law disappeared
We no longer have either that assumption or that reality. And it has not disappeared over night. The people have, little by little, increment by increment, allowed the Rule of Law to be replaced by the Rule of Man. Like a cancer it has been eating away our liberty, our productivity and our country. If the people stand still for men of power to make, change or enforce law at their whim, our country is truly doomed.
It started when State and Federal governments created the disgusting legal term “No Standing”. This has been used to protect and implement unconstitutional laws, warrant violations of properly legislated laws and to permit the overreach of government policies. Those who have acquiesced to the use of that term are as much responsible for the demise of this country as are those who wield it.
If anyone has any doubt that the Rule of Law is no longer applied to any but the common man, let’s review just a few.
- No legal case in modern times has been proven to a greater extent than the fact that Obama has created or caused to create a forged birth certificate. People have been fired from their jobs and even imprisoned for much less. The courts have told anyone who has tried to hold Obama accountable to forgery laws, they have “No Standing”. Case dismissed.
- The people prepared a law suit challenging the unconstitutional “ObamaCare” on the grounds that it was deemed a tax bill and was produced not in the House of Representatives as required by the Constitution, but in the US Senate. It was challenged also on the grounds that the Constitution forbids the government from forcing the citizens to purchase a product. “No Standing” was once again used to close down any consideration of the court.
- The IRS was just cleared of any crimes relating to the targeting of Conservative Groups, even after the director apologized for having done so. The law, once again did not rule. Man did.
- Then there is the crime partner of Hilary Clinton, one Slick Willie, the womanizer who targeted young and vulnerable girls and women for sex and then lied under oath and to a Federal Judge. Prison time for those felonies? Nope!
- And then there is Hilary Clinton herself. The one who helped Slick Willie destroy the women he abused. In the Benghazi hearings she swore under oath to Congress that she believed the attack on that mission was caused by a stupid video and then it was proven by her emails sent just one day after the attack that she knew it was an organized terrorist attack. For the common man that would bring some serious jail time.
- Anyone who violates National Security protocol would be prosecuted and sent to jail. Unless of course if your name is Hilary Clinton or some other politician with a (D) attached to the end of your title. For these violations it’s not a cold bench in a Federal prison that awaits her, but a seat in the Oval Office. God forbid!
- When the common man goes AWOL for a night out, he is demoted at the least and/or thrown in the brig at most. But when the Rule of Law is controlled by the rule of powerful men who need to protect stupid and crazy policies, a coward, a deserter, a traitor and one responsible for the deaths of least 6 fellow Americas will serve no jail time.
The decline of America has correlated with the growth of uncertainty, distrust and even fear of the government. As the rule of man strengthens and the rule of law fades, American entrepreneurism and vitality are dying with it. The several incidents listed above are but a tiny fraction of the whole.
The inhabitants of our shining city on the hill, which was founded on the courage, the sweat and the blood of our fathers and grandfathers, are allowing the removal of one brick after another from the foundations of this once great metropolis. Once this experiment called America has crumbled it’s doubtful it will ever be rebuilt.
Listen people! Can you hear the tremors?
