Socialism
Many people around the country have asked me to explain socialism, its inherent evils and its likely effects on us as individuals. Here I will try to answer. For certain, it would deal a death blow to capitalism and to the God-given freedoms which we have enjoyed for so long in the United States.
Capitalism v. socialism
Our country uses capitalism as an economic system. Capitalism relies on private ownership of property. This includes the means of production, distribution, and creation of goods or services for income and profit by individuals. It has free markets. Free markets recognize individual rights to own property (lands, businesses, goods, etc.). Such rights give individuals security and a means to control their own affairs, thus their own destiny.
Under capitalism, private citizens, with their ownership of property, take responsibility for the production and distribution of goods. Whereas, under socialism the government owns property and controls production and distribution. Socialism characteristically denies individual property rights. Individuals have no control over their own affairs and destiny. The government regulates almost every aspect of living.
Someone has correctly written,
Socialism is the doctrine that man has no right to exist for his own sake, that his life and his work do not belong to him, but belong to society, that the only justification of his existence is his service to society, and that society may dispose of him in any way it pleases for the sake of whatever it deems to be in its own tribal, or collective good.
Socialism by stealth
I do not believe the majority of the American people would knowingly or willingly adopt Socialism, once they understand it. However, it has seeped in, little by little, over the past one hundred years. Progressives and liberals have pushed it. For the last several years and most currently, Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders have pushed it hard.
If we don’t take care, these and other political leaders will adopt every fragment of a socialist state. Then one day Americans will wake up in a full-blown socialist nation, without realizing how it happened. The Democratic Party Platform committee adopted many fragments of it this week. And of course Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders teamed up to support it fully.
Karl Marx, the nineteenth century German socialist revolutionary, taught that “Democracy is the road to Socialism.” He further preached that “Socialism represents the stage following Capitalism in a country transforming to Communism.” The platforms of Liberals, Progressives and Socialists draw from either Communism, Marxism or Fascism. All constitute varying degrees of socialism, and differ only in degrees of totalitarianism.
What benefit from it?
Not one socialist country, past or present, has ever produced the level of prosperity and happiness for the people that our system of capitalism, private enterprise, and individual ownership of property has produced. If such a country existed, people would not cut fences, climb walls, swim rivers or load onto boats to escape those countries to get into the United States.
The representative republic of the United States has a capitalist and free-enterprise market system. This system has effectively dominated the world for over two hundred years. Within it, individuals own the means of production of goods and their distribution. Since America’s beginnings, the freedom of private ownership and free enterprise with its spirit of competition has led to an abundance of food and products, greater efficiency, lower prices, better products and rising prosperity. No socialist country has ever equaled – or can ever equal – the production of food and materials and private individual prosperity we have.
Behold the results!
The people of almost every country in Africa are starving to death. Daily, we see the fly blown faces of these starving people. Every one of those countries has a socialist government of some form. Every country in Europe (European Common Market, today European Union) today experiences the results of the evils of socialism with extremely high taxes and poor economies. Glaring examples include Greece with its economic collapse, Spain and Portugal. The same fate threatens the rest of Europe. That’s why the people of England voted to abandon it. Despite tax rates of 80% and more, these countries drown in public debt without enough food and goods to support the people. Hillary Clinton, a strong proponent of Socialism, will lead our country toward that same end.
How would Socialism affect you as an individual? First, by necessity, tax rates in America will reach upward of 90%. Furthermore, our way of life will become exactly like that in Europe. Socialized health care will mandate whom you will have as your doctor, even whether or not anyone will treat you for an illness. Private ownership of property will cease to exist. The government will not let you start or maintain a business. The government will regulate everything, even the small things in our everyday lives. These include the kind of windows you may put in your house and the type of light bulbs you may buy. Socialism has a long list of evils. Take warning – socialism means nothing more than the sharing of misery.
How socialists win
The proponents of socialism – Hillary Clinton, Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders and others – use the plight of the poor, the disenfranchised and the jobless to take power and control the people. So they promise to equalize income, redistribute wealth, and level the economic playing field. They further promise free college for all, and to take from those who have and give to those who have not. When they do that, they will destroy the concept that, with hard work and perseverance, anybody can get ahead economically in the United States.
Most Americans think this could not happen here. I used to think that … until I realized differently. Not only can it happen here, it is happening here – right here, right now.
We can stop it
We, you and me, must fight what is happening. We cannot sit this one out, nor rely on someone else to do it for us. We have a duty and an obligation to protect, defend and preserve our Country, our freedom, our way of life. So we must devote ourselves to our Free Republic and its Constitution, and strengthen our resolve to keep it. If we must die, let us stand tall and die on our feet, fighting, and not on our knees in subjugation. We don’t have a lot of time. If we lose, that loss will come at an unthinkable cost to every American.
On November 8th, 2016, you will have your opportunity to save yourself and this nation from Hillary Clinton and her ambitions to gain power and socialize this wonderful country.
Freedom has always come with a hefty price tag. Not a single American soldier has ever died in defense of Socialism.
