According to a report by Reuters on Tuesday, the Biden White House is preparing another $800 million aid package for Ukraine in its ongoing fight against Russian forces, which continue to ravage Ukrainian cities.

An unnamed source told Reuters the package would include the same amount of aid, but the specifics are still being worked out.

According to an anonymous source who spoke to CNN, the new package may be approved in as little as 36 hours, or it may be delayed for several days. President Joe Biden told reporters this week the new aid package would include more ammunition and weapons.

Specifically, according to Biden, the new package would aim to supplement the 18 155mm Howitzers that were part of last week’s $800 million Ukrainian aid package. The United States has been training the Ukrainian military in the use of the long-range weapons as Ukrainian forces aim to keep up their defenses against a struggling Russian onslaught.

The new aid package, once officially announced, will bring the total amount of United States aid to Ukraine to over $3 billion since the invasion by Russia on February 24. Last week’s aid package included 500 javelin missiles, armored personnel carriers, and 11 Mi-17 helicopters.

The newest aid package will come after a stark warning from Russian President Vladimir Putin that any additional assistance to Ukraine from the United States and NATO would result in “unpredictable consequences.”

statement from the Department of Defense last week said, “The United States will continue to utilize all available tools to support Ukraine’s Armed Forces in the face of Russian aggression.”

The new military aid package comes after a video conference between US President Joe Biden and other NATO leaders, during which additional aid to Ukraine was discussed.
