A new poll has found that, should President Joe Biden choose not to run for a second term, Vice President Kamala Harris would be Democrats’ preferred pick in the 2024 presidential election.

As reported by Newsweek, the survey was released on Thursday by NewsNation/Decision Desk HQ. A total of 1,000 US voters were polled.

Respondents were asked who they would prefer as the Democratic candidate if Biden decided not to run in 2024. The top picks included Harris, who polled at 16 percent; Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, who got 11 percent; California Governor Gavin Newsom, at 9 percent; and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, at 8 percent.

When respondents were asked about Biden or former President Donald Trump running in 2024, both received relatively negative marks, though Biden’s numbers were slightly worse.

60 percent of all respondents said they didn’t want Biden to run for president. 57 percent said they didn’t want Trump as president either. Among Republicans, 26 percent want someone other than Trump as the nominee. Among Democrats, 30% said the same about Biden.

Besides Trump, top Republican picks for president included Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who received 23 percent of the vote; former Vice President Mike Pence, who got 21 percent; and former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley, who received a mere 5 percent.

Americans are deeply concerned about the state of the US economy right now. 66 percent were “very concerned” about inflation and 28 percent were “somewhat concerned.” Additionally, 48 percent of those polled said that they are worse off financially than they were last year. Only 20 percent said they are better off.

The poll found that, due to the Supreme Court’s recent rulings, 55 percent of respondents said they were more likely to vote in the November elections, while 7 percent were less likely to do so.

After the Supreme Court voted to overturn Roe v. Wade, polls have shown that confidence in the institution has fallen significantly. Because of this, Democrats have renewed their push to expand the court. A recent poll found that the majority of Democrats support such a move.

And people need to learn the Constitutional requirements to be President and Vice-President. Unless Mrs Harris was naturalized she is not even a US citizen. Mr Obama, Mr McCain, and Mrs Harris, are not natural born Citizens of the US. That is born in the US of a US citizen mother and US citizen father.
