Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene says she ‘would be honored’ to be Trump’s running mate
Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GE) said during an interview with Real America’s Voice that she “would be honored” to be former President Donald Trump’s running mate, should he decide to run for Republican nominee again in 2024.
Greene stopped short of saying she would 100% accept an invitation by Trump by saying she would “definitely give that some strong consideration.”
Greene did however go onto lavish praise on Trump. “I love President Trump. I never hide that fact. I think he’s wonderful,” she said. “I have a great relationship with him. I talk him to frequently. I’m so thankful for him and his family, as we all are, and I defend him all the time,”
Greene stated that she would “fight for that man because he fought for us” and described him as the kind of president “we need back.”
During the same interview, Greene re-iterated her desire to defend “Christian nationalism.”
“That’s not a bad word,” the GOP lawmaker said. “That’s actually a good thing. There’s nothing wrong with leading with your faith…If we do not live our lives and vote like we are nationalists—caring about our country and putting our country first and wanting that to be the focus of our federal government—if we do not lead that way, then we will not be able to fix it.”
Trump has not said who he would have as his running mate but he did effectively rule out Mike Pence again during an interview with The Washington Examiner in March where he said “I don’t think the people would accept it.
Trump has hinted at a run on several occasions, but has not rubber stamped it yet. Trump recently told Clay Travis that it would be “very hard for me not to run, to be honest. it would be easy.” Trump went onto say that he didn’t believe President Biden would run for re-election.
Eric Trump was recently seen with a golf bag that had “Trump 2024” carved below an American flag.
