Florida pizza maker recalls almost 20,000 lbs of frozen pizza due to lack of inspection
A Florida pizza maker has recalled almost 20,000 pounds of frozen pizza product due to a lack of USDA inspection.
Danny’s Sub and Pizza in Cape Coral, Florida, announced the recall of 19,275 pounds of frozen pizza products that had been distributed to retailers in Florida and Texas. The USDA issued the recall on Friday, urging consumers who had the products in their freezers to throw them out or return them to the store they came from. The products, according to the USDA, were produced in a facility “without the benefit of federal inspection.”
The products included in the recall are as follows:
- 14-oz. plastic shrink wrapped frozen packages containing a single-serving of “DANNY’S CUBAN PIZZA AUTHENTIC CUBAN STYLE pepperoni” with no lot code, packaging dates, or other identifying information represented on the label.
- 14-oz. plastic shrink wrapped frozen packages containing a single-serving of “DANNY’S CUBAN PIZZA AUTHENTIC CUBAN STYLE chorizo” with no lot code, packaging dates, or other identifying information represented on the label.
- 17.5-oz. plastic shrink wrapped frozen packages containing a single-serving of “DANNY’S CUBAN PIZZA AUTHENTIC CUBAN STYLE Hawaiian” with no lot code, packaging dates, or other identifying information represented on the label.
- 14-oz. plastic shrink wrapped frozen packages containing a single-serving of “DANNY’S CUBAN PIZZA AUTHENTIC CUBAN STYLE ham” with no lot code, packaging dates, or other identifying information represented on the label.
The USDA says no adverse reactions to the products have been reported, but consumers concerned about a possible reaction to eating the products should consult a healthcare professional immediately.
