Poll: 57% of voters say investigations into Trump should continue

According to a national NBC News poll, which was conducted after the FBI raided Trump’s Mar-A-Lago residence in search for classified documents, 57% of voters said they believe the investigation into Trump should continue.

In a party breakdown, 92% of Democratic voters believe the investigations should continue, as do 61% of independents and 21% of Republicans.

Across all parties, 50% of those polled believe that Trump was responsible for the January 6 riots, this is an increase of 5 points from May.

The poll also reveals a high level of discontentment with the general direction the United States is going in. 58% of those polled said they believed that America’s best days are behind it, while 61% said they would be willing to protest for a day to express their dissatisfaction.

The poll paints a mixed picture ahead of November’s midterms, with President Joe Biden’s job rating still in the low 40s, and with Republicans holding a slight lead on congressional preference.

“Politically, for Joe Biden and Democrats, the news is not all bad,” said Democratic pollster Jeff Horwitt of Hart Research Associates, who conducted this survey along with Republican pollster Bill McInturff of Public Opinion Strategies. “Heading into Labor Day, the political dynamics could be worse [for Democrats], but they also need to get a lot better and fast,” Horwitt went on to say.

McInturff, who is the GOP pollster, acknowledges that circumstances have improved for Democrats since earlier on in the year. He did argue however that the main fundamentals — the president’s job rating, the nation’s direction — are going against the party. “America is singing the blues, and that bad news for the Blue Team in November,” McInturff said.

The investigation will simply reveal more corruption by the Democrats and other “Left” people in control of various government agencies. This is just a continuation of the scams the Democrats started back in the -rep-2016 time frame.
