Elon Musk urges his Twitter followers to vote for GOP candidates in midterms
Newly-minted CEO of Twitter, Elon Musk, Tweeted out to his almost 115 million followers on Monday, urging independent voters to cast their ballots for Republican candidates in Tuesday’s midterm election.
“To independent-minded voters: Shared power curbs the worst excesses of both parties,” Musk wrote. “Therefore I recommend voting for a Republican Congress, given that the Presidency is Democratic.”
He added a second Tweet, saying, “Hardcore Democrats or Republicans never vote for the other side, so independent voters are the ones who actually decide who’s in charge!”
The message follows an earlier Tweet Musk wrote in April this year, saying, “For Twitter to deserve public trust, it must be politically neutral, which effectively means upsetting the far right and the far left equally.”
Musk also said in May of this year that he would vote Republican for the first time in this year’s elections. “I would classify myself as a moderate, neither Republican or Democrat. In fact, I have voted overwhelmingly for Democrats historically. Overwhelmingly.” he said on a podcast. “I might never have voted Republican. Now, this election? I will.”
Since becoming CEO of Twitter just days ago, Musk has sparred with politicians, celebrities, and others as he implements some controversial changes to the platform, such as charging users $8 a month for a verified account, and firing half the Twitter workforce.
Many major advertisers have left the platform under Musk’s new leadership, citing concerns over the spread of misinformation under his watch, as well as the rise in hate speech on the platform in the days following his takeover. Audi, GM, General Mills, Pfizer and Volkswagen are just some of the advertisers who have decided to split with Twitter.
Musk also admitted the company is losing money since he took over, saying there has been a “massive revenue drop” since he became CEO.

A Sometimes-Squabbling Conservative Constellation Gathers at Charlie Kirk Invitation
The key is to vote for those who will act in the best interest of the country and people. One reason we are a Republic is that Democracies all tends to become dictatorships over time when people are manipulated to fight against each other instead of finding common ground. People should consider this quote and think about it:
Democracy, n:
A government of the masses. Authority derived through mass meeting
or any other form of direct expression. Results in mobocracy. Attitude
toward property is communistic… negating property rights. Attitude toward
law is that the will of the majority shall regulate, whether it is based
upon deliberation or governed by passion, prejudice, and impulse, without
restraint or regard to consequences. Result is demagogism, license,
agitation, discontent, anarchy.
