Two women file lawsuits accusing ‘Scrubs’ producer Eric Weinberg of sexual assault
Two women from California filed lawsuits this week accusing former ‘Scrubs’ producer Eric Weinberg of sexually assaulting them in separate incidents, both in 2019.
The new civil lawsuits come less than a month after Weinberg entered a not guilty plea to eighteen criminal charges of sexual assault ranging from 2012 to 2019. Weinberg has been behind bars in Los Angeles County since October when a judge revoked his bail, calling him a danger to society, and ordered him to be taken into custody.
This week’s new accusations include sexual assault, sexual battery, gender violence, assault, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress and negligence, and sexual harassment.
One of the suits accuses Weinberg of luring a young woman to his home under the guise of a photo shoot to help propel her modeling career, and then forcing himself on her and forcing her to perform sexual acts on him.
In the second suit, another woman says Weinberg got her to come to his home by catfishing her on a dating app, presenting himself as a younger man. When she arrived, she claims Weinberg sexually assaulted and raped her.
Previously, over 24 women who have worked with or been acquainted with Weinberg told The Hollywood Reporter the producer had sexually assaulted them in the past. The women claimed Weinstein had a history of luring them to his home using photography as a cover, and would then perform unwanted sexual acts on them, often filming the acts without their consent.
Weinberg has worked on numerous hit television shows including Scrubs, Californication, and Anger Management.
