Twitter reinstates undercover journalist group Project Veritas
Twitter has reinstated the account of undercover and independent journalists Project Veritas on Sunday. Their leader James O’Keefe uploaded a video on behalf of the company to announce their return.
“Thank you @ElonMusk for reinstating the Project Veritas Twitter account and for standing up for real investigative journalism Stay tuned for an exclusive on this account 11/29 – A brave whistleblower inside the federal government is going on the record about child trafficking.”
Liz Wheeler, who is host of the Liz Wheeler show, tweeted: “Welcome back, Project Veritas!!!”
According to OutKick, Project Veritas now has 955,000 followers.
Previous management banned the Project Veritas account in February 2021 over the groups undercover journalism.
Twitter explained at the time that it was due to “repeated violations of the platform’s policies prohibiting sharing — or threats of sharing — other people’s private information without consent.”
In addition to Veritas, Twitter has also re-instated the accounts of former president Donald Trump, the Babylon Bee, Kathy Griffin, and Jordan Peterson.
Project Veritas was founded in 2010 by James O’Keefe with the goal of exposing corruption and misconduct in order “to achieve a more ethical and transparent society.”
In one of the groups most recent undercover videos, a Connecticut was filmed talking inappropriately about his students. The school fired the teacher after being informed of the video.
