On Friday, Elon Musk said that he would support Florida Governor Ron DeSantis should he choose to run for President in 2024.
Musk gave some insight into this his political outlook by saying “My preference for the 2024 presidency is someone sensible and centrist. I had hoped that would the case for the Biden administration but have been disappointed so far.”
Musk also said he was a “significant supporter of the Obama-Biden presidency and (reluctantly) voted for Biden over Trump.”
When a user asked Musk if he’d back DeSantis in 2024, Musk replied by saying “Yes.”
Musk bought Twitter one month ago and reinstated Trump’s account after running a poll on his page. 51.8% of those polled voted for Trump’s profile to return to Twitter.
“I’m fine with Trump not tweeting,” Musk said on Twitter Friday night. “The important thing is that Twitter correct a grave mistake in banning his account, despite no violation of the law or terms of service. Deplatforming a sitting President undermined public trust in Twitter for half of America.”
Musk also confirmed that he did not donate to DeSantis’s campaign for governor.
