Report: Elon Musk says Twitter staff will face legal action if they violate their NDA’s

Elon Musk has reportedly threatened Twitter employees with legal action for leaking confidential information to the press, according to multiple reports.

Zoe Schiffer, the managing editor of Platformer, reportedly obtained a copy of the email sent employees, but she didn’t post the document online because “Twitter is doing everything it can to catch sources,” according to Newsweek.

Schiffer said that Musk is asking employees to sign a pledge indicating they fully understand his vision for the company.

According to Schiffer, Musk wrote in the email: “As evidenced by the many detailed leaks of confidential Twitter information, a few people at our company continue to act in a manner contrary to the company’s interests and in violation of their NDA (non-disclosure agreement).”

“This will be said only once: If you clearly and deliberately violate the NDA that you signed when you joined, you accept liability to the full extent of the law & Twitter will immediately seek damages,” Musk reportedly said.

Musk has explained how he has been able to catch those who have leaked information, telling a Twitter user that they “sent what appeared to be identical emails to all, but each was actually coded with either one or two spaces between sentences, forming a binary signature that identified the leaker.”
