Rep. Marjorie Taylor-Greene defends comments after saying she and Bannon would have ‘won’ Capitol riot
Georgia Representative Marjorie Taylor-Greene has defended her comments after saying during a speech that if she and Steve Bannon had arranged the January 6 Capitol breach, “we would have won.”
“I want to tell you something, if Steve Bannon and I had organized that, we would have won. Not to mention, we would’ve been armed,” Greene said at the Young Republican gala.
Other guests at the gala included Donald Trump Jr., Steve Bannon, Newsmax personality Steve Cortes, conservative commentator Jack Posobiec and Project Veritas founder James O’Keefe.
Greene received sharp criticism for her comments, including from the White House, who said on Monday: “It goes against our fundamental values as a country for a member of Congress to wish that the carnage of January 6th had been even worse, and to boast that she would have succeeded in an armed insurrection against the United States government.”
Greene responded to criticism on Twitter, saying: “The White House needs to learn how sarcasm works. My comments were making fun of Joe Biden and the Democrats, who have continuously made me a political target since January 6th.”
“I will never back down from my support of the Second Amendment. And I will never allow the White House, Democrats, or the media to continue to accuse me of something I had nothing to do with,” Greene said.

I wish people would stop calling the “Jan 6” protest a riot. If it has been a riot Washington DC would have been destroyed. People need to use the correct descriptions – especially considering the “Left” keeps distorting facts and events to promote their lies.
