Biden administration to make COVID tests free again ahead of winter

The Biden administration has again made Covid tests available for free again this winter, though the number of rapid tests are limited.

Households can now order a total of four rapid Covid tests for free at CovidTests.gov and they will be shipped out just before Christmas. After the holiday, deliveries will continue in the following weeks, according to the White House.

The Biden administration previously shut down the free at-home Covid test program in September due to the lack of funding.

The White House was able to continue sending out more tests after they shifted existing funds to buy more tests and relaunch the program.

“We feel confident that we are going to have enough tests to get through this next round, four per household, in the coming weeks,” a senior administration official told reporters on Wednesday.

The relaunch of the free at-home test program comes as Covid infections have reportedly increased again. The administration is currently focusing on increasing vaccination rates in nursing homes and long-term care facilities.

The White House has urged nursing homes to keep all residents up to date on the vaccines, offer treatment to residents who do catch Covid and take steps to improve indoor air quality.

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services will be reaching out to jurisdictions with the lowest vaccination rates in nursing homes to remind them of steps they can take to increase coverage.

The federal government has also instructed hospitals to offer the COVID vaccine to unvaccinated patients before they are discharged.

If a person is at risk from the seasonal flu one is slightly less at risk of the COVID-19/Wuhan/Fauci virus. This was determined early on and hidden by those promoting the “scamdemic”. People need to do some real research and learn where the real danger is – the so-called vaccines.
