Report: Trump White House staffers demanded AG Barr’s removal after he rejected Trump’s voter fraud claims

White House staffers reportedly drafted a press release in December 2020 that would have called for the firing of then-Attorney General William Barr, and anyone who else who spoke against Trump’s claims of voter fraud.

According to CNN, the staffers wrote up the draft after Barr publicly refuted Trump’s claims that the 2020 election was rigged, however, Barr was not explicitly mentioned. CNN cited new transcripts released by the Jan. 6 committee.

According to the transcripts, the draft stated that, “Anybody that thinks there wasn’t massive fraud in 2020 election should be fired.”

However, the draft was never actually sent out.

According to CNN, White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson previously testified that Mark Meadows gave her the draft statement in the form of a handwritten note. When she passed the draft up command, officials flatly rejected the note, according to the committee.
