Elon Musk hints that ‘Fauci Files’ will be released later this week

Embattled Twitter and Tesla CEO Elon Musk revealed on New Year’s Day that a collection of information about Dr. Anthony Fauci would be released later this week.

The so-called “Fauci Files” are expected to be released in the coming days, and are purported to contain damaging information about Fauci, who recently retired from the position of Chief Medical Adviser.

In the past few months, Musk has engaged in a public feud with Fauci, claiming the esteemed medical expert funded controversial gain-of-function research in Wuhan that led to the outbreak of COVID-19.

Musk has also accused Fauci of lying to Congress during hearings over the handling of the coronavirus pandemic, as well as claiming Fauci prioritized gain-of-function research over the health and wellbeing of the American people during the height of COVID-19.

Asked this week by Juanita Broaddrick, the woman who accused former president Bill Clinton of raping her in 1978, for an update on the Fauci Files, Musk replied simply, “Later this week.”

Fauci referred to Musk in an interview in mid-December, saying the CEO’s incendiary Tweets were threatening Fauci’s safety, and forced him to retain a full-time federal security detail. At the time, Fauci said Musk’s comments “[stirred] a lot of hate in people.”

Musk has released documents to the press in recent weeks that give insight into how Twitter was run before his dramatic takeover late last year, but the public reaction to the so-called “Twitter Files” has been lackluster, evidently upsetting Musk, who accused the media of “rushing to defend the state instead of the people.”

At the time of this article, the Fauci Files still had not been released by Musk.
